@pie: I would like to agree with you on principle and because the previous games were launched first on pc but I found the console version of Max payne 3 to be highly enjoyable.

I wasn't either. I loved the first two games, but Max Payne 3 just wasn't as fun, despite a great story and presentation. It felt like the enemies took way too many bullets before they died, and I remember dying a lot. Maybe I was just frustrated because I was rushed when playing it.

Not if you are a Vita owner looking for something to play.

I forgot to mention it was a honorable mention for best design at this years IGF. The winner, ironically, was FTL.

I was lucky enough to get a free copy from the developer who was giving some away on Reddit, and was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Part of this came from a lack of enthusiasm for PlayStation Mobile. I think that sentiment is probably shared, even by us desperate Vita owners, so I just wanted to mention the game here since one of the guys on last week's Bombcast seemed positive on it but didn't really talk about it that much. I worry that it would be overlooked because its a Mobile game. It costs $5.

I also did an interview with the Swedish developer, Matin Jonasson (aka grapefukt), which if you want to read you can find here.

No Caption Provided

From grapefrukt's (the dev) post on The Playstation Blog:

A year ago, I started making a game about a space station. I wanted to make a game that had all the fun parts of an RTS but none of the fiddly, stressful bits. The more I removed, the better the game became and that’s how Rymdkapsel came into being.

Rymdkapsel is a game about building your station; imagine a real time strategy game where you don’t have to worry about ever leaving the cozy comforts of your home base.

It’s not all smooth sailing though, when your base grows bigger as does your need for space and resources. All this expansion will surely attract the attention of the dreaded enemy. This leaves you with the task of balancing your quest for expansion with the safety of a small, tight, structure.

Any comments on playing as the girl character in P3P?

The story remains pretty much identical, but you're given more opportunities to interject and build a character for yourself. For example, you're more likely to get the opportunity to comment on a situation, and the party will react to your demeanor. Plus the party itself makes up a big chunk of your s-links, helping to develop their characters, and your relationship to them much better.

In general, the female character's unique s-links are an improvement for the same reason that P4's are; they learned a lot of what works and what doesn't from P3 vanilla.

Well you definitely convinced me to play it now! Thanks.

There is seriously nothing to add to this discussion, and I certainly don't have it in me to write a novel right now. But basically atmosphere, story, and music go to Persona 3 (I have only played portable), and characters, gameplay, and presentation go to Persona 4. Between the two, I have to choose 4, but I want to go back and play P3P after I platinum P4G.

Any comments on playing as the girl character in P3P?

Also there better be Persona 5 details this year.

Coincidentally, I have been making a list of PS1 games recently that I really like and want to go back and play.

  • Driver 2
  • Lego Rock Raiders (Can't remember if PC version is better or the same).
  • Crash Team Racing
  • Ape Escape
  • Hogs of War
  • Crash Bash (Need friends)

Lego Rock Raiders was the shit! I played it only on the PC when I was a kid so I can't speak too much to quality other than its functional. Man, they don't make Lego games like they used to. Shout out to Lego Alpha Team as well.

I admittedly only know a few of their songs, but this one has certainly grabbed me more than any other. Partly because I love Pharell.

Now if only they will release the collaborators video with Julian Casablancas. Can't wait for that track.

The way that a poker game can have bad poker mechanics is with predictable AI.

Thanks for answering the question, I guess that makes sense from the time I have spent with the game.

Like some of you guys, I agree that claptrap is way too overrated. He was pretty funny in Borderlands 1, but once he started making appearances on the VGA's and stuff I started to get annoyed with his character.

I know there has to be someone else who was, unlike the Bombcast's opinion that not a single person asked for it. What was wrong with the poker in the game? How does a game have bad poker mechanics, isn't Texas Hold 'em just Texas Hold 'em? (Not coming from an angry place here, legitimately curious).
