Some of the streamlining left me feeling out of place and the shooting feels pretty lifeless compared to Gears of War. However the universe is slowly being built into something that could be interesting long term. The interactive storytelling is true pioneering work and worthy of high praise.
I liked Liara T'Soni more than any of the romances in this game. Liar of the Shadow Broker stuck me pretty deep and it was an experience greater than any one game could give me.
I doubt this game would resonate with most. But for me turn based combat is an old friend that I'm always happy to have visited. But more importantly I love all the old stories no one seems to care for anymore. I was so happy to see them brought to life with beautiful art and craftmenship. Customization is way more meaningful here than in any big budget game of recent memory. I pray that this is successful enough to be a series as was the intention. Merci beaucoup Spiders Studio.
The multiplayer alone is worthy of this spot. I the hate repetition in multiplayer games. If I've seen it before it better be markedly better than the previous rendition I played or I won't bother. Bioshock bypased my natural aversion to multiplayer by including things I'd never expect to see and making them work very well. Furthoremore a lot of the things it adds alters the player dynamics throughout the match. Big Daddy suits being the obvious catalyst but turrets and research photos play big roles.
I was worried it would not meet the high standard set by Fable 2. Reviewers seemed to say it hadn't. Of all the supposed great ills the game had the only one I had a problem with was the bread crump trail being buggy. And if you couldn't figure out that there was gonna be some bad consequences if you didn't have enough money at the end then society has failed you my friend.
I thought it was great fun. Funniest & best story, of the series so far. Combat encouraged you to switch up which gave the combat more longevity.
While I liked the physical intuitive systems for map and such. I think people are gonna complain until you do the standard map. So just do a standard version for them but keep the innovative ones please.
I was not as excited for nor satisfied with the campaign as I was with Halo 3. However I really liked Kat & Halo was and has restablished itself as my favourite standard tdm multiplayer shooter and I spent a lot of well enjoyed time there.
Came out last year. Played it this year. To be honest I didn't have a whole lot of time to play games this year. And most of that was spent on last years games. But I feel shame for not having this on last years list. If you want to know the true king of stabbing dudes look no futher than Riddick with ulaks.
I feel that the most important part of a game is the heights it achieves not it short comings. Many a game are cast out because of some triviality. I enjoyed the characters of Deadly Premonition more so than any game this year.
Pretty small in scope, but it worked exceptionally well within that small scope. The combat was really solid and marked improvement from the last game. I played the game on the highest difficulty and I felt it gave me the tools to do an even more difficult mode. Very much like Ninja Gaiden when you do things using the optimal strategy it's really amazing what you do. Amazing measured by how ridiculous and hard it seems to the button mashers.
The character interaction between Captain Smiley and Star is consistently and startingly funny. Worthy of an animated series.
I often think that I am the only one who thinks track based arcade racing is still worth playing. I am very happy to have found a place to actually enjoy such a game with others.
