There's actually some pretty good stuff in this list. Cosmic Star Heroine, Papers Please, Roundabout, Bastion, Enter the Gungeon, The Banner Saga, Secret of Mana...

A bunch of stuff I've either been meaning to get to but haven't yet or want to replay. Might dust the Vita off this month.

I checked up on the rest of those, seems Roundabout is still in development they're apparently waiting for some issues with their middleware to be resolved. Bastion was actually released two years ago, I just forgot to remove it. Enter the Gungeon is not officially canceled, but according to the dev it would be a lot of work to get it running well and is not a priority for them. The Banner Saga was sadly officially canceled earlier this year. And Papers Please is actually releasing this week. I'll update the list accordingly.

@elmorales94: To be honest, some of those are probably not happening any more. It's hard to keep track because developers would sometimes announce a Vita port, then years would go by and there is no news. At which point it might have been silently cancelled, or it might suddenly show up on the PSN store one day. Secret of Mana was just recently announced, I know Zeboyd is still working on Cosmic Star Heroine, and I believe we had recent updates on Papers. The others though, I'll have too look into them and maybe remove/vaporware them.

@ravelle: Those account suicide posts are likely not indicative of their typical posting behavior, and if it is, they'll likely get quickly banned no matter where they go.

Also it's something that's hard to verify now, but it would be interesting to see how many of the truly repugnant suicide posts were made by people who had made worthwhile contributions to GAF in the past. There were certainly plenty people with a grudge against the GAF/Era community that kept "sacrificial" accounts on the side, waiting for a chance to disrupt and discredit it.

@chaser324:GAF had a blacklist, but the mods would also manually check the domains of every email address for new accounts, which is why account approval usually took months. I got rejected 1-2 months or so after I signed up.

@ravelle: I'm not really seeing all these problematic posts on Era, can you link to any examples? And while I haven't spent much time on GAF lately, it seems much less active than Era. You can literally compare equivalent threads where Era has 2-3x the number of replies. And the posters I considered notable and especially interesting on GAF seem largely to have abandoned it, either going to Era or just disappearing.

@chaser324: I'm not sure exactly how ResetEra will be handling it, but NeoGAF did not accept email addresses from random domains. My first attempt at joining got rejected because of this. GAF generally wanted addresses tied to an ISP, business or educational institution, something that would limit your ability to generate an endless number of new email addresses to sign up again if you were banned.

I got lucky and got in during the open registration. Been good so far, Jeff and Brad even showed up in the Giant Bomb hangout thread. Hopefully they'll be able to let more of you guys in soon.

I don't see anything about a secret code? Unless you mean it asking for the captcha.

The captcha just says "Secret Code" for me, doesn't seem to be any clear indication what to put in it so I assume it's an actual secret code you have to be told to sign up. I wish they made this a bit clearer in the migration post. It seems like those of us that didn't jump on Discord will be left hanging for now.

@hirst: Oh, yeah it's working for me now... But you have to get the "secret code" from someone?

Well, I didn't get on Discord, but I should be recognizable enough to GBGAFers that if any of you "in the know" are reading this feel free to PM me the code.

Huh, is it invite only or something? I'm still just getting "The domain resetera.com is no longer parked by GoDaddy." Or i suppose it could be some DNS propagation thing?

There is a certain tradition for humorous bait and switch thread titles on NeoGAF. "Half-Life, 3 images" was an infamous one, and of course Duckroll had a period driving people crazy with near constant "[recognizable Japanese dev/creator] announces new game" for mobile threads. But I have a hard time believing many of the people posting explicit stuff are among those who actually cared about what the site was before the meltdown.
