The last four weeks or so have been quite the whirlwind. For all six of you who care out there, the Sonic Amateur Games Expo came and went, and with it, I had to sift through and
write 22 reviews. That has proven to be sort of mentally draining (it was last year, too) so I haven't really gotten a chance to do anything for my monthly update for
my own game, either. I'm currently trying to pull some stuff together for an impromptu update - kind of makes me wish I hadn't written those
history articles for it - those would have made good "filler" updates.
Back on the subject of
my job, the weekend was spent... doing something related to it. I don't really know how much I'm allowed to say publically. You see sites like GiantBomb discuss certain aspects of this kind of stuff all the time, but for now, let's just say that certain events have occurred behind the scenes of the site I write for, and in turn, I have been "promoted" to a higher position and should have a slightly higher percentage of games to review. I've re-written this next sentence about seven times now, but basically, this could be the point where it starts feeling like a real job (in a good way!) and not just "pretend".
Granted, when you take a step back and look at the grand scheme of things, what happened this weekend to our site is probably more like a drop in the bucket to the guys at GiantBomb. But as a greenhorn, it's exciting stuff.
So yeah, that happened. With all of that and my usual level of slacking off, it's been quite a month.
