I had left joy-con issues too, never got around to replacing it and called Nintendo a few months ago to see if a repair would cost less than a new pair. The service rep "updated" my warranty to the day I called after subtly asking if I couldn't remember when I purchased my obviously launch-day Switch lol. He did me a solid that day.
