This year, I played through Mass Effect 3 for the first time. I wouldn't call it a great experience, it's horribly uneven. But while I was frustrated often, at the end I was happy to finish the story with all of the characters from Mass Effect 1 and 2.
There is a lot of great stuff in ME3 that gets overlooked in all the... y'know. On a second and third playthrough I've enjoyed it more and more. Still falls behind ME2 personally but it's grown in my esteem in the years since it came out.
I hope I'm never called in to make up the numbers in a police line-up identity parade thingy if it's being judged by like half of the people posting in here. This thread should be repurposed into a support group for sufferers of Prosopagnosia.
So. I never played it and everything said about it definitely turned me off.
That said, this update does look pretty damn solid and I would certainly be open to picking it up for a good price in one or two more updates. Once it came out to such disappointment I told myself that I would check back in a year and see what was up. They look well on their way to, eventually, making a game I would be happy to play.
That said, I'm kinda into Rogue Galaxy right now? It's not perfect but it delivers fun, easy, naval ship combat in a sci-fi setting and adds on trading to keep you checking prices. It's kinda slow to start? Well, it's just slow I guess. But I'm digging it. Rogue Galaxy: recommended.
Play World of Final Fantasy. You will get new faith in video games. (When in doubt.. play a JRPG)
This is NOT good advice for all players. Playing JRPG's %99 of the time only remind me why I don't play JRPGs. And one of his main issues is that games are repetitive and just need to get to the good gameplay. Neither of which is a hallmark of most/all JRPG's.
I would agree with a lot of posts and say take some time off, put the consoles away and just take vacation. If you want advice on games, I would say play something that invests your intelligence and asks you to think at every turn. Ie. Civilization, X-Com and The Witness. You might not GET into them, but if you do, it's only through engagement and that is a very rewarding way to be into something.
