I'm perfectly happy for GB to keep the 5 point scale. Most places do have the 10 point system but the massive majority of games fall between 6 and 10 anyway.

What's really the difference then? Anything that gets a 5/10 gets categorically ignored anyway.

Minerva's Den was pretty good but it felt too similar to Bioshock 2 (which I really enjoyed) to really feel like a singularly memorable experience. So even though I had a good time with it I've always been a little blank on why people praise it so consistently.

And you felt Bioshock was BORING? but Bioshock 2 holds a special place in your heart??? Sure, the action is better in 2 and it gets better as it goes but the first Bioshock is incredible. INCREDIBLE. <--- caps yo.

I find you hard to trust now. I'm sorry.

Yea, it's been $20 at EB Games for a while. Couldn't get into it personally, saccharine storytelling with a pound of backtracking killed it for me. I'm glad a lot of people love it though.

LED TVs tend to have higher image quality

Unless you're talking about TV's that exist on planet earth, and not imaginary TV's from space.

My advice would be to go to a place where you can compare the two sets in person. Or spend the few extra bucks for a 1080 plasma.

That's fair enough, I'm going to have a look for sure before I buy but I've heard nothing but malice for the people that calibrate display models at places like Best Buy so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

And maybe the prices are different in the states but jumping to 1080 while staying with a good brand seems to add $200 to $300 to the price tag which doesn't suit me so well.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I've made up my mind. Finally. Until later this afternoon when I start second guessing myself. (probably going with the LED, the 37" size also fits my gaming space better)

I hate to post this kind of things again but I'm really caught between these two tv's. It's basically coming down to a bigger plasma 720 tv versus a 1080 LED tv.

Both have great reviews (I've read tons) but almost NO reviews mention suitability for gaming. I've also been unable to find any number for input delay on either tv.

43" 720 plasma

37" 1080p LED

I seem unable to decide. Review after review says that the 720 Plasma is almost indistinguishable from a 1080 set but never mention gaming. I'm not an obsessive or a graphics whore I just figure get the best thing I can while I'm looking into it right?

I just need some thoughts from the GB community...

This year I've played Sleeping Dogs and Saints 3. Now that I'm in GTAV I'm pretty much done with driving EVERYWHERE. Still pretty good though.

I worry because both Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs kinda look like must plays...

Braid

Journey

Bioshock, providing I'm understanding the question correctly

Far Cry 2

Oddly enough, maybe GTA IV

My thoughts

I'll stick with the big head one MAINLY because Everything from Bioshock 2 onward has a slightly animated look to it and she would look odd if the rest the game/expansion was done under a different aesthetic than her.

I looked at some old threads and a lot of opinion seemed to be that things over 60Hz looked weird. The thread was from a number of years ago, is that still the case? I use my tv pretty heavily for gaming and film.

I've been eyeing these two.

tv 1

-The only real bad things I've read are that Panasonic outsources the panels to another company sometimes ending up with lower quality and that the colours disappear in low light scenes, which is worrying.

tv 2

-The only thing I'm worried about here is the 600Hz thing, other than that it seems like a good bet.

So yea, what do you guys think?
