Nice write up! I've been playing the Octopath demo and quite like it. Did you ever get bored while playing it? I'm trying to figure out whether I should invest both the money and time into such a long game right now.

These are the only games from this year that I have had a chance to play. I am very early in Nioh and Nier, and am hoping to get to a few more games before year's end. So list in progress:

I also do not own a Switch, so some games are sadly out of contention.

Doom 2016 and playing through Salt and Sanctuary right now which I'm really enjoying.

I always torn between playing games released the current year and my backlog. I usually only play 2-3 games in the year they're released.

I have the same problem every time I load up the site.

I loved the alpha. I was compelled to finish it and really enjoyed the combat by the end.

I played through Dark Souls 2 on ps3 when it came out, but am thinking about playing through Scholar of the First Sin on PS4 to play the dlc. Is it worth it to see the dlc, or should I just play 3? I've heard the dlc is very good, but not sure if it's worth the time investment.

I have only played Bloodborne and MKX this year, and both are really good. Bloodborne is my top game right now though.

I really want to play The Withcher 3, but am not sure if I should just wait to play it until I build a PC or get it for PS4.
