I know I'll catch shit for this, but I prefer Unity. I know "Unity is awful... blah, blah, blah, " but it's really not that bad. It has a magnificent world and graphics and after the patch I quite enjoyed the game.

I'm really bummed that Syndicate does not have any interior buildings at all and the population density has been drastically decreased. Unity felt like a living, breathing world. Syndicate feels like a downgrade in that regard.

So here's something that I've wondered for a while and the recent talk about Syndicate sparked my curiosity again. Why is this game something that is talked about as quite possibly the worst Assassin's creed game? This is especially confusing to me especially looking at review scores the game got (4/5 on GB, 95 on Game Informer). Even the user metacritic isn't terrible (6.9 which is what syndicate is sitting at). Was it just a after the fact revelation that everyone got at the same time that this game was apparently garbage. I'm asking as someone who hasn't played it yet by the way.

It's mostly that the story is very disconnected and feels jumbled together. After having such strong narratives with Ezio, this game made a humongous world (one that I argue is still incredibly fun to run around in), but as many have pointed out, Conor is boring and there are some missions in here that are downright infuriating or bad. And yeah, Desmond's story was absolutely terrible.

That said, I did like a lot of parts of the game.

Also--after it was patched--I really, really like Unity. It bothers me that at face value, the Bombcrew continue to shit all over that game, though they didn't even play it. Unity's Paris is truly something to behold.

I find that to be quite a shame. Witcher 3 just has a ridiculous amount of incredibly well-detailed, well-written content. If it's not your thing, I totally get it, there are games I've played that most people have loved and I'm just like "eh" (How do you people not find Red Dead Redemption boring as hell after ten hours?). But man, you just can't undersell how much quality stuff there is to see and do in The Witcher 3. This doesn't mean that the game is without issues (large portions of the second act, especially everything having to do with Dandelion, are just terribly paced), but there's so much going for the game. Stopping at or right after the griffin is selling the game a little short. Don't think that you have to do everything in the game - basically, you really only have to do the main quest, and you should probably also do any sidequests that spin off of the main quest if you're to finish it. But that's kinda missing the point of what makes it so special.

As far as the controls go, I played it at launch. I thought they felt funny at first but I got used to them rather quickly and didn't have much trouble with the griffin at the beginning of the game. The combat controls were always perfect as far as I was concerned, it was general movement outside of combat that was problematic. They tried to give Geralt a feeling of weight, instead of the overly digital-feeling movement he had in Witcher 2. It didn't feel too far off from controlling a modern Rockstar game, what with their reluctance to let you turn on a dime and all. Anyway, there's an alternative controls option in there now that makes it feel more... responsive, I guess? It feels closer to Witcher 2's more "digital" movement, although it's still something of a middle ground. You also always walk when indoors now with the option to run, which is something that I wanted as soon as the game came out.

The Giantbomb crew have never really been fans of fantasy RPG's, though. Vinny likes them, Rorie likes them, but generally the guys seem like they would rather be off playing something strange and arcade-y than something that's going to inspire power metal albums fifteen years from now.

All of this said, I haven't played MGS V and I don't really want to. I played a little bit of Ground Zeroes, just enough to remind me that I generally want as little to do with stealth games as possible. I still might get it - even if I think I won't like it, something in me wants to know what's up and I'm always willing to give a highly-praised game the good ol' college try. But if that happens, it won't be until sometime next year.

I agree with this, I'm into the Witcher for the lore, the stories, the atmosphere, the world. In that, it captures everything beautifully both graphically and aesthetically. I like that Geralt is on his own quest, and the world and the wars are going on without him. I get that the combat isn't great, it's one of my complaints as well. It would be nice if there was more depth there, but I'm still there for the actual "role playing" of Geralt and where this universe will lead me.

MGSV is the opposite. The world and story are disappointing, but the gameplay is fantastic. I can like both for very different reasons.

my second level, Thinking with Trampolines: 5BD9-0000-00A5-1434.

It was intended to be more of a puzzle level than what it turned out to be. And I can't tell if the second section is the best or the worst, I will let the people who want to check it out be the judge.

Your level was torture, I finally got past the second part only to go through the door, and hit the P block and die... I just couldn't anymore... I think that's what you were going for, but I literally had to turn the game off and walk away. That second section is just bonkers.

I download all my podcast through iTunes, so sadly I have to listen to the ads, but I just fast forward through them. I know, I'm such a rebel.

Personally, they nerfed the wrong card. Frothing and Battle Rage were the cards causing the issues. I mean at this rate, if "charge" is in their eyes the issue, why does Druid combo get a pass?

Is there a way we could update this thread into like a showcase per week, and then the users vote on their favorite levels?

It's really bugging the hell out of me that this game isn't getting more attention. What with MGSV out, I can see how it's getting buried, but I thought it was fantastic.

Wow, a lot of people on here are really against eggs and really socially awkward and don't like talking to people.

Eggs are fine, they can be great for you, as well as egg whites. Try to watch the other stuff you eat (greasy or fatty food for lunch) and you'll be fine. Try oatmeal or fruit once and a while for breakfast, you'll be fine, you're young.

I've been out of college for 10 years, but I'm sure the basics still apply; if you see someone you like, strike up general conversation - make a joke about how cramped the bus is, or what major they are, etc. If they talk back great! If not, move along. Definitely don't start following people, but practice makes perfect so don't get deterred by people who don't want to talk to you. As you can see by this forum alone, a lot of people have different personalities. Just try to start some casual ice breakers here and there, especially if you see the same person on the bus multiple times, and you can only get better at it as time goes along and more resilient if you make a fool of yourself.

I do agree it is much easier to meet people - friends or significant others - when you are in a social group, study group, or a class. It's just easier to get to know people and strike up a conversation.

Talking is great, stalking is not.

I've been waiting for this album for a long, long time. Back when he was supposedly going to release "Detox." I put a lot of faith in Dre's albums, as Chronic and 2001 are two of my favorite albums of all time.

The switch from "Detox" to "Compton" was a little perplexing, and I should have known something was up when he was "inspired" by the Straight Outta Compton movie to switch directions and make this album - aka, I feel like it's a cash-in product.

The album's biggest flaw - and I'll get this out of the way first - is clearly that THIS IS NOT A DR. DRE ALBUM. Several songs don't feature him AT ALL. It feels like, oh I don't know, buying a Metallica album only to have Creed show up and play the songs. It's like he used his name as a platform to feature whatever artists he's invested in and this album is supposed to be a launch pad for them.

Now, I won't say the guest artist are THAT bad, but I feel completely like a sucker of false advertising. And the album overall is pretty weak, with beats that don't make sense and just artist that don't flow as well as Dre. I thought the previews on iTunes were a little weak, but I figured I can trust that the "whole" of the songs would be better, as I was looking to Chronic and 2001 as my reference point.

Not even guest appearances of Ice Cube or Snoop can help this disaster.

I can't believe this album hasn't gotten more flack or outrage. Maybe people don't care, and I'm the only sucker... Now, I could have "downloaded" the album for free and saved my money, but I'm a STRONG supporter in paying for music, not that Dre's $800 million net worth would necessarily feel the loss, but I'm so mad at myself for buying this garbage.

It's true what Nas said, Hip-Hop is dead...
