@redyoshi:If you're okay with a smarkier crowd, but is way into what they are seeing, I'd definitely say check out an NXT show if there happens to be one in your area and try that first. Otherwise, I will say that it seemed like this one spot I was sitting was the most dead, like the kid sitting next to me was barely reacting to the show, although I think he may have just been shy because he did quietly cheer for Cena and Becky. And then there was those chuckle fucks sitting behind me who clearly just wanted to shit on what they were seeing and randomly say, "Hey remember Eddie Guerrero?" or "Rey Mysterio?" when the CWC commercials came up. However, I still had a really fun time, yes I was annoyed during that but I was still enjoying myself. Although, I enjoyed it even more once I moved for the last 40 minutes of Smackdown.

@ericsmith: Luckily, they weren't yelling this stuff so I think me and maybe the people next to them were the only ones that heard it, but I just don't understand the appeal of going to a current roster show when you haven't watched the product in years, or kept up with it.

@cmblasko: Honestly, the crowd was great I just have really bad luck sometimes like this, because once I moved the fans I was sitting near made the experience better.

One more thing about seeing Smackdown Live was during the commercial breaks we had commercials too, except for I think two matches that continued during commercial breaks. I was expecting something more, like one of the interviewers come out and interview fans or something. Or maybe some segments from something on the Network, but for most commercial breaks it was just commercials for WWE stuff. Two commercials are just WWE showing all the famous people it attracts, which was funny in the, "Hey look at who we know!" way. Although it was great when they showed the Shawn Michaels with the Pens HBK line and it got booed, because Philly.

Alright, so I just got back from Smackdown and figured I’d make a post about my first experience with the Main Roster Live.

Before tonight my only experience with the WWE live was a NXT house show in Philly a little over a year ago, right around the time Sami got injured, but before he lost the title. That was so much fun, being in a place where the whole crowd knew the product, or at the very least the wrestlers, and were into everything. Samckdown was a bit different, I still enjoyed it, but probably less so.

I showed up just in time to see the last match of Main Event, Jason Jordan v Aiden English in what was a pretty good match, although for some reason a couple people tried to get a “You can’t wrestle chant going!” Why? Neither in the ring are bad, so why?

Anyway, I had a feeling tonight was going to have something relatively big happen, was hoping for a NXT debut, instead got a Cena return. Once his music hit I knew I was with a different crowd than for that NXT house show, which was fine because Cena is pretty great. I enjoy booing the guy, but he ain’t that bad…..unless he takes the title from AJ, then he is the worst thing EVAH!! Crowd was way into the back and forth between each guy especially between Cena and Ambrose.

Then the Uso/Hype Bros match happened, no one seemed to care a whole lot, and I didn’t care much either so eh. I will say that this was when the guys behind me started to annoy me. It all started with one saying The U-S-O-S, literally the letters and made fun of the name. These guys clearly haven’t watched in a long time. During the match all these two do is criticize, talking about how good the WWE used to be, how none of the guys were in good shape, and how they should try out for the WWE and show them up. At this point I think I got a beer.

Then there was the Miz segment, it was great, was still hoping for Bryan to come out and say “Here’s someone who I know can beat you for your title.” And in walks Samoa Joe, but those hopes were dashed when Ziggler came out, but hey they had a really good match on Sunday so I’m fine with that continuing. The only other thing I will point out about this segment was it seems like Miz is starting to get over, he received a lot more cheers than I was expecting.

I think the Baron Corbin part was next, but what is more important is JACK SWAGGER IS NOW ON SMACKDOWN....AND THE CROWD GOES….mild. I do have to ask what did Swagger say when he first got the mic, something about the Rolling Stones? The whole crowd was puzzled and had no idea what he said and how we should react.

Then there was that Women’s match, holy shit that was a fun match, and I was ecstatic that Alexa Bliss took it. However, this was also where the guys behind me were getting annoying again, as one would expect. One saying Becky sounded like a dude, like wtf, and how he would take Nikki home after the match…………………………….uuuugggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

A commercial for Raw coming to Philly in December aired, and these guys were all about going to Raw, saying Raw is so much better and that the WWE goes all out for Raw, these guys were staring at their phones the whole time and know nothing about this current roster, why would you want to come again?

The Heath and Rhyno segment was great, Slater is over as hell. A CM Punk chant tried to get started during the match, got fairly loud, don’t know if it was during commercial or not, but a good portion of the crowd quickly quelled it by booing, which I thought was great. The guys behind me had some hot takes, they thought Shane was a hipster now and that the Ascension guys were cool because they looked big. This was finally when I had enough hot takes for the evening and moved to another seat that was open further down my row, and sat by some fangirls of Seth, Dean, and AJ Styles, as well as several younger Cena fans. You know, I’ll boo Cena, but hearing how much these kids like Cena makes me happy.

The Bray stuff happened, couldn’t give a shit, Rowan is for some reason back with Bray, was really hoping for a Luke Harper return instead. Then the main event, which was supposed to have everyone’s favorite jobber, until Miz ruined it. No dark match, but Cena did give a promo after Smackdown stopped airing giving props to both AJ and Dean, which was pretty cool.

TL;DR

Fun show that was nearly ruined by assholes behind me and I wish my section didn’t sit on their hands as much as they did.

Raw was pretty good tonight; however, with the title picture the way it looks right now I'm expecting more Rollins v Reigns matches/feud, and I really don't want to see any more of that for a good long while. Now maybe they surprise me and do something different, that'd be cool.

So my immediate reaction from last night was that Summerslam was crap. After thinking on it a little today I think it was probably just okay, Battleground was way better though. The problem is that Summerslam was 6 hours long and is basically being marketed as a second Wrestlemania at this point, and just okay is not enough. Raw and Smackdown actually had gotten me excited for the matches, maybe my expectations were too high, but shouldn't they be high for Summerslam?

In the end I came away disappointed, but disappointed in the way where you get a present that is wrapped in such a way it looks like a sick six speed bike, then you unwrap it and it's socks. They are great socks, and you actually need some new socks; however, you still think, "How awesome would it have been if that was a bike!!"

Edit: Finally, I found this gif, I have come around Summerslam was GREAT!

So Summerslam was just way too long, I know I got a bit cranky during it. I personally was okay with the chants about the title early on until the point where it was taking up half the match, we get it and we know the title sucks MOVE ON! That being said there was apparently a DELETE! chant during it and well...

@ohagan: It's not too bad, all you do is copy one of the prediction templates and then pick who you think will win and how. For tag matches you need to put down who gets the pin and who takes the pin. You sign up for this by simply submitting your prediction. Simple as that, eventually the scores will be reset and we basically start a new season. The person with the highest point total after each PPV gets to have the championship belt with their avatar.
