Wii Collection

Same as last time.

Going through the platforms I have the least games for at first. Bought my Wii on launch day hoping it would change things. Turns out that the change it brought was not to my liking

List items

  • Bought this day one. I think I've played it 4 times or something like that. Not a bad game, they just changed the gameplay to more random and the controls weren't all that good

  • Really awesome game. Great follow-up to the Gamecube games. One of the first games to really use the controller in a good way, even if some of the motion stuff doesn't make sense. Cleared the game once in 08 I think. Should revisit this game to see if it still holds up

  • Never really got hooked on this game. Beat the second boss I think and then I stopped playing. The constant Wiimote "wanking" and a totally derelict city made me put down the controller and not pick it again

  • Fun party game. Often used it in the game competitons I've held. Negative thing about this game is 1. Gameplay relies to heavily on busted controller sensors and this makes the game too random and 2. Not everything is unlocked at the start. Do that shit to a fighting game and only unlock 2 characters out of 40. It's a party game people. Please think of that when you're designing them.

  • Ah, one of my favorite games of all time. This was the third version of the game I bought(First GC then Ps2). This is probably the version of the game I like the least. The motion controls where the reason I bought it and the reason I hate it. Just feels like a sloppy port. Finished the game today. Bought the Ps3 HD version and it's still holds up.

  • Bought this preowned because I didn't think it was gonna be good. And I was right. Played about 20 minutes and then stopped playing. Maybe because I'm not a huge fan of rails shooters. Anyway happy I got it for 10 bucks instead of the full price

  • This game was on my list to buy at launch since I saw Brad, Jeff and Ryan play this when they still were at Gamespot. Also a fun party game similar to Rabbids.

But suffers from the same random factor from the controllers.

  • Godawful game. Are you serious? Did I just pay for this crap? At least I got an extra controller out of the deal.

  • Fun game. Had a lot of bowling tournaments with my friends. Haven't played it since 08. It was a good tech demo of what the Wii could do. Sadly most of the games devolved into "SHAKE THE FUCKING CONTROLLER TILL YOUR HANDS FALL OFF"

  • Probably a good game if I could see past the fact that all Zelda games have been the same since day one. Essentially a linear game with an illusion that you can do more things. The narrative never gets any different than "Ganondorf has fucked up the world. Save us by going to these 7 temples". Rather boring characters also. you never relate to them or anything. Like the girl you are supposed to save from the start. When you find her again she has amnesia and Link just walks off. Cleared maybe half the game before I gave up

  • Truly fantastic game. Cool backstory, relatable characters, jaw-dropping visuals and environments. I could go on all day. I've always been a fan of Tetsuya Takahashi since I played Xenogears for the first time.I'm about 25 hours in and still very early in the game I think. I can't move on from a zone until I've done every sidequest(Curse my completionist heart)

  • Ugh... Why did I buy this? Don't get me wrong, I love the games but the 25th Anniversary Edition sucks balls. Why? 1. On 1 fucking DVD there is just Super Mario All-Stars. And that's not even the version that includes Super Mario World. 2. The game package is good looking but is 20% higher than normal DVD cases for no reason. This makes the game too big to fit in my nice Ikea shelves :( 3. The soundtrack CD is worthless. 10 tracks that are actual music, but only one track per game. And the other 10 tracks are sound effects from the game.
