@RankRabbit: AMD Phenom II's are on Par with Core 2 Duo's in gaming. The Intel Core i7 is a monster but it is more expensive

@AdventChild: The system you are looking at is fine fore basic computer stuff such as surfing the internet and word documents but not gaming.   Get something with an AMD Phenom II or an Intel Core 2 Quad or Core i5 or i7.  Quad core is the way to go, dual cores are fine but it's 2009 and newer games are getting better at multi core rendering.  Usually these pre-built computers come with a crummy graphics card so you'll have to get one on your own and install it yourself.  I'd go with AMD/ATI Radeon 5750 or 5770.

Well it says compressed audio and video not textures.   Instead of listening to FLAC quality music we'll be listening to mp4 or mp3 which most people cannot discern from each other.  As for the video it just means the cut scenes which will probably be DVD quality and not 1080p  of Blu-ray.  Since I do not own a PS3 I really do not mind having multiple discs, it will be like the old PS1 days.  Hopefully I can install the game to the Xbox 360 hard drive and not change discs.

@wolf_blitzer85: yeah that processor is great as well. Quad core is the way to go nowadays. You will get  higher frame rates with these newer processors.

Your CPU is holding you back.  You might want to upgrade to the Phenom II line or the Athlon II. I only suggest this because you have an AMD based board.  They are both AM2+/AM3 so hopefully you can just drop these in your existing motherboard.  Both are around $100.

The Phenom II dual core running at 3.1 ghz and can be overclocked
