Hmm. Buy a 3DS now and get the free games, OR buy it after the price drop, OR hold off until the inevitable next hardware iteration and improvement of the 3DS software library like I was going to anyway?

Toss-up between Vigilante 8 Arcade and Hydrophobia (I bought it for $15 when it came out).

Actually, I think V8 takes it. Hydrophobia is/was a bad game, but has been extensively improved since its release. Whereas V8 Arcade was a half-assed remake of a decade-old game, released with a save-game bug that as far as I know was never fixed. You'd be better off putting the PS1 V8 disc into your Xbox 360 and enjoying the disc read error.

Just beat the game and found out about the difficulty achievements not stacking. That's fucking clownshoes, but aside from that I loved the game.

My 360 achievements finally popped up last night after about two weeks of no updates. Steam hasn't synced in months.

My XBL and Steam achievements both seem to have stopped updating. Last update from XBL was only a few days ago, but the ones I've earned since then haven't shown up.

Scifi subject matter sounds nice. I really think they should go a little more personal with the scale, though. Meaning I'd like to play through a whole game as one dude, not jump back and forth between five dudes.

Anyway, yeah, I see a ruined skyscraper and a hangar and some mountains and clouds and a tower or two. I'm tired of militaristic shooters but I'm up for whatever these guys do.

Hell, I felt the same way after years of wating for a real Black follow-up. I was blown away when they announced the new one last year. And I don't understand all this talk of there not being a "place" for car combat games in 2011. What does that even mean? It's not like there was ever a real glut of them, like there is now with FPSes. I think the market is more diverse now than it ever has been, endless CoD wannabes notwithstanding. Of course there's a place for Twisted Metal. It's a day one purchase for me.

I just finished Killer7 today. What a great, wacky piece of work. I'd love to see an HD version, maybe with some minor gameplay tweaks to make it a bit more user-friendly.

Did some of the story elements remind anyone else of the X-Men? Wheelchair-bound leader, a group of characters with diverse abilities...plus the scenes of Harman and Kun Lan playing chess. Maybe that just comes from having played through the game around the same time that First Class came out.
