OK this game is technically still in Beta, but i had to mention it because its probably the game i played the most this year. Its release is slated for 2012, so if it does come out in the next few days; number one! When its release is pushed to 2013, then this will be my honorable mention.
Before Dota2 i never played a MOBA but after seeing the game at Gamescom 2011 and watching all the replays online with commentary i had to sign up for the Beta. Early this year i got in and ever since i've been having a lot of fun learning this new type of game (even against bots)!
