Jagged Alliance is definitely the way to go from here if you have a PC. Loved the demo of the new one, and have heard the full game is tits. Jagged Alliance 2 was an obsession for awhile, on of my all time favorites. Its on GOG & Steam. It will run on any functioning post-millenial PC. Jagged Alliance 2 is 2D, but isometric games don't really need fancy graphics IMO.

I will buy this game for the ridiculous name, and will probably become frustrated with cock blocking interrogation sequences where you cannot discern what the whores are hiding in their underdrawers, and I will likely not get the vidyagame poontang everybody is expecting from this game because I am insecure about my masculinity. They could all be trannies and you wouldn't even know.

The game certainly wasn't going to be an isometric strategy/action game. If you thought that, you are some kind of ding dong.

Did I expect choreographed action sequences where you jump between hover scooters and shoot miniguns? While listening to dubstep?

Maybe I expected the revival would contain one of those things ... but all three? Well Ill be.

At least this isn't a System Shock revival .... I don't think I could take that.

Kids be playing Gears of War .... I had me Jazz Jackrabbit. Come on Cliffy I dare you to reboot Jazz. Could you imagine how that would go down with these blood crazed toddlers? They would probably crap down your freshly torn neck hole for even suggesting it.

Send babies to Iraq with parachutes and grenades. Fuck yeah.

So OP doesn't get it. Thats fine. Its been a long time since a game like Deus Ex came out. Maybe its all hailed return doesn't ring home for some. I however can forgive the smaller issues for the mere fact that it exists, and hopefully with good sales will pave the road for others like it.

I have been starved, sick and tired of the same old. I won't say that games today are bad. No, I will say they do what they do very well. The problem is that they mostly only do action. It becomes like too much of a good thing, I need pacing, and variety.

Games used to be different. I think Deus Ex HR might not hold up in a world where every game is a Stealth/Action/RPG. Dare I dream. In this world however it is like a glass of water in the desert. Maybe the water has a little mud in it, but god damn is it ever tasty.

If they make a sequel .... and these days who will question that possibility.... I would wish for them to ditch the crappy game engine they used. They did a good job with what they had, but there were limitations. The cinematic overhaul they gave to this series would really benefit.

Company of heroes is the finest example of RTS gaming in my eyes.  Its the most fun I have ever had with an RTS.
Torchlight is a good dungeon crawler, though I am sad about the lack of multiplayer.
For something less intense, but really awesome Introversion's Defcon is tops.  Aswell as Darwinia.

I have a history with anxiety disorders. For over 10 years I was subjected to anxiety attacks as well as an underlying feeling that would creep up whenever I was around people, or situations where I was expected to act or perform in a certain way. About 3 years ago, I started to take my life back.
Medication and psycho-therapy are a good base for progress, but you really need to garner the courage to leap head on into your worst fears. You don't necessarily need to defeat them, but rather accept what you feel and move through it. In this way I had to fail a dozen times over... but you only have to win once to get the courage to win again. I still have moments where I am intimidated, but I try to live each day anew. Forget your past ... you cannot change it, it does not serve you. It may not be for everyone, but meditation helped me a great deal in order to understand myself better.

Im sure you want to rush out and buy Mass Effect 2 when it is released, but I think it would be totally worth it to spend some time enjoying Mass Effect 1. Mass Effect 2 will still be out there for years. I know how it is though, the hype makes hardcore game-heads loose their  composure sometimes.
Mass Effect still has a lot to offer though.

I remember a day when I had to beg for scraps of information about my most anticipated games. Now I long for those days where experiences were as innocent as newborn babes. Gaming is so commercial now, and games are just begging for my attention .... ack!
Its tough to keep it pure. I have seen enough to have a general idea what Mass Effect 2 will be like, but I have decided to stop the madness.
The fruits of the game will be sweeter my friends. Oh yes. The fruits.
