Hats off to Steam...

Steam's been a pain in my ass for a long time. But seemingly, it's necessary for the games I purchased through 'em... So, what the hell. Now, there was a new patch from Relic for the Company of Heroes series; Relic claims 'they send out the patch to Steam as soon as they could for equal distrubution'. Steam, the clusterfuck it is, on the other hand...

Steam makes us download the ENTIRE damn game again, because they used a game build with the patches enabled. So, instead of a 96MB patch, we have to download a 10GB game(6GB for those who don't have the expansion pack) for a simple 96MB patch. Why? Because Valve disallows users to manually patch games bought through Steam.

Fuckers.

Lol. I am guessing you need a new hard drive?

Nah, my hard-drive's fine. The problem is that Steam's limited 240kb/s download plus a 10-11GB game download for a 96MB patch is a disaster. I have to spend 5 hours downloading a game for a patch that took me 12 sec to download from Relic.com.

Not to mention that anything that could possibly disrupt the download results in the download resetting back to zero. -_-

I don't understand why you could not patch it yourself. I download mods all the time and add them to my steam games. That does suck, I'll remember that next time I have to deal with a patch and do it when I go to bed.

NJ, it's difficult to say whether I should feel sorry for you, or yell at you for whining all the time. Sure, a lot of bad stuff happens to you, but the same thing happens to everyone. Maybe I'm just humble about certain things, but if something fucks up with one of my games that isn't directly hardware related, I deflect most of the blame from the company onto myself, because it's generally my own stupidity and tendency to take a metaphorical hammer to my hard drive and yelling "MAKE IT GO, DAMN YOU!!!".

Whining makes my world go around, my old chap. It's to whine, or to give kudos like some wackjob hippie.

In a survey of 5 BraindeadRacr blogs, 6 of them featured him whining.

That's right, 6/5.
