Ubisoft Montpellier's take on the first World War is a surprisingly heartfelt adventure.
Many games try to use nostalgia to lure you in, but few of them are as well-made as Shovel Knight.
Watch Dogs is a solid open-world game that doesn't do enough to set itself apart from the pack.
Call of Duty 4. One of the best FPS's of all time in my opinion.
now go jump online, you think the SP was awesome?? wait till you play Multiplayer.
Agree with Matt. COD4 was amazing. I didn't even know it until I played it, just had a feeling it was another churn out of the COD franchise but man, that game was revolutionary. KZ2, not so much, great game. But funny how you say that you don't like the idea of something sneaking up behind you that you can't see, man you must be scared all day. Thats life!
yea for some reason, for me killzone 2 was just everything i wanted out of a good fps game. it was one of the best SP's ive ever played. the mutliplayer flat out rules too
Have you ever thought about playing a RPG. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is pretty cheap for the PS3. It's not a FPS, but some people liked it, including me and you can be a vampire.

The single player wasn't that great to me, I beat the game in about 6 hours and it seemed to be a generic FPS story line. The real kicker is the multiplayer in KZ2, I absolutely love it. I think the leveling system is great and I can't stop playing.
Glad to hear you liked Killzone 2! It'll be the first purchase I make when I set aside the cash for a PS3. Here are some other shooters that are really fun.Call of Duty 4 / Call of Duty: World at WarHalo 3Far Cry 2 - FPS crossed with a sandbox game. It's a really fun shooter if you like sandbox games (Fallout 3, GTA IV, etc).Rainbow Six: Vegas 2Half Life 2 + episodesTeam Fortress 2 Counter Strike: Source
I would steer clear of Resistance. Call of Duty 4 is a MUST HAVE (waaaay better than cod 5) and also CoD2, but it's only on PC and 360.
@ Claude - Vampires, eh? Can I be a vampire elf? That would make my day, hehe.@ TheHBK - Nah, in real life I'm fine, mostly because whoever's coming up behind me probably isn't holding a gun or swinging a knife. ;-)@ Eric_Buck - Any particular reason Resistance is a no? Did you just not like it, or...?
freezerr has some excellent suggestions there, and I definitely support them.Congrats on finishing KZ 2. I'm having a tough time finishing it myself. Just can't quite get into the SP.
Yeah the story is dreadful, as mentioned in here. But everything else is sublime.
@ Claude - Vampires, eh? Can I be a vampire elf? That would make my day, hehe.Well you can't choose that class per se. You have to get infected with Vampirism, but you can play as a Dark Elf, High Elf or a Wood Elf and anyone can become infected. My first character was a Dark Elf and when infected I searched for a cure. I did create another character a High Elf and played him as a Vampire after becoming infected. If you haven't tried Bioshock, that's a good one for the PS3 or Xbox 360.
I really enjoy Killzone2's online but the singleplayer was a big letdown for me personally. But then again, so was the Halo3 singleplayer.
COD4's single player was only really fun on normal difficulty and one time through. Killzone 2 I've already enjoyed playing the single player more than once.COD4 has really refined and 'tight' online MPKillzone 2's MP is more interesting, but far less balanced and not as fun to play because of things like spamming grenades and slightly worse netcode. I appreciate the bots for offline though.I think it compares to Halo 3 pretty well. Decent SP mode, but not amazing. MP is interesting, but for different reasons in Halo 3. I'd say Halo 3's MP is tighter, but it plays oddly sometimes. I really like the amazing replay feature in all of Halo 3's modes.I think Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead are worth trying. Counterstrike / Source would be cool to check out, but that game is a complete mess.Definitely check out Orange Box or Half Life 2 alone. Even if you don't have a good PC, check out Orange Box on 360, it's good anywhere really.Check out the upcoming Riddick game. Maybe check out the original Doom 1 & 2, Quake 1 and 2? Duke 3d? Halo 1?
You slighted XIII? One of my most favortist eva FPS? Noooo! lol. Seriously though I am so jealous of you at the moment Brandy 13 more hours before I get home from my holidays and no matter how tired I am I will be playing something. But what to play first? Urgh! Cant wait to see your review.
Great stuff Brandy...sounds like KZ2 was alot of fun! Definitely try to pick up a 360 sometime soon. Pro's with Jasper boards are definitely difficult to find. I wasn't really worried about this when my old pro died because I could put the drive in a Jasper equipped Arcade model. This worked perfectly, but I still have the small 20GB drive, which is depressing. Keep the great blogs coming!
Go and get the orange box right now.
I just started the game myself and love it. The graphics and action are top-notch, and I really just want to keep playing it. In fact, I will. Here's a suggestion: THE ORANGE BOX. Done, and done. That's all.
Cool. Good to see that big black monstrosity being put to use.
The game nauseated me, literally. I don't know why. I mean, it was an alright game but, I'd always get a headache and feel dizzy while I was playing it.

"Eli said: "The game nauseated me, literally. I don't know why. I mean, it was an alright game but, I'd always get a headache and feel dizzy while I was playing it."lol. maybe its the movement of the game and the motion blur. but me and most people never had this problem. "
I completely lost interest in the SP campaign at a certain point (wont spoil any locations). The multiplayer is fine, but more of a clusterfuck compared to the other more open, more tactical games I play. (tf2, bf2). Some of the level design in multiplayer I find is weird, especially since one map has to work on so many game modes, no map is specialised for a single gametype. One location that comes to mind is the clusterfuck on the stairs coming out of spawn on that Hammer map. constant shotgun and grenade fest, and people just spazming around because they cant aim.
Congrats on the PS3 and getting through Killzone. FPSs can be amazing when done well. If you're online, feel free to add me (PSN ID: Renegade_Saint) and we can play some KZ2 multiplayer sometime.
