UPDATE: Ok, maybe my post was a bit too cryptic yes? YES, I still want a 360 (and tonight I earned enough at Gamestop to actually buy one, but they didn't have any Jasper Pro units in, or I definitely would have bought it). The PS3 was sent to me by Sony (read: I write video game reviews, articles, etc. for a website) - no money out of my pocket, no choosing a PS3 over a 360... I'm just a very lucky girl (see previous blog post where I received a Wii from Nintendo). Why not get a 360 from Microsoft? They unfortunately don't offer them (well, not in the same way - LONG story, just trust me), so I'm stuck buying one on my own. Clear now, yes?

Can't believe they shipped the PS3 in another box, usually online stores are too cheap and just slap the shipping label right on the box itself and call it day.

@natetodamax: I think you are mistaken here man. Congradulations Brandy thats awesome, how did you pull that one? I would recommend that you try playing Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (still on of my favs on PS3) and Metal Gear Solid 4 of course which is another very good exclusive. Also since you dont have a 360 still you can still play other great multiplats like Oblivion and Bioshock which would be high on my to do list if I hadnt already played them. Hopefully you can complete the trio soon and get into some great Microsoft exclusives like Fable II and Gears of War series etc.

For something that expensive they had better cover it up, too many hands touch your mail before you get it.  Also I think with all the rediculous regulations the Post Office has it's not possible to send anything not covered in the right brown colored material.  I know we can't at work, and I work for a mail house that deals with the Post Office daily.  It's gotta be a box or something similar.  Again, I could be wrong. At any rate, they better cover up anything that expensive or someone might get greedy.

Yeh I hadnt realised that she had attached it to the forums when I read it the first time. So maybe a little bit of a back story to go with the picture would have made the issue clearer for people who havent read any of her other blogs, but knowing Brandy there was nothing inflamatory behind this.

The Ps3 is a great console.

The wii is the wrong choice.
The 360 is the best choice though.  Ps3 is behind that, but damn, the wii sucks donkey balls.

Funny cause the HDTV I ordered for Christmas came in its original box with the shipping sticker just slapped on it. The size of the thing and big Sony brand on it I would have thought it'd be covered up as well. But, to be fair, that was sent through UPS and your experience is with USPS.

@ Everyone - Hopefully my update with the backstory clears up a lot of your questions, yes?

@ c1337us - Thanks for those suggestions, but since (as I posted in the update) I am SO close to getting a 360 (it all comes down to finding one now), I am probably going to get every multiplatform game for the 360, since I will probably become obsessed with achievements really quickly, and will want whatever chance at them I can get. Drake though - yes, I will look into that one.

@ RetroIce4 - My avatar is a scene from the first season of Stargate Atlantis (my favorite show, probably ever - say about it what you will) - girl is a wraith who sucks life out of people through the palm of her hand, which is currently plastered to kneeling dude's chest.

In all honesty I'm sure it's the USPS. They are rediculous about the regulations.  It seems like they make stuff up just to make my job harder/their job easier.  I guess I trust UPS a bit more than I trust USPS, but I did watch a show on Nat Geo channel about the UPS superplant somewhere in the midwest.   I could go on about the scale of that place, but it's possible to steal. all in all, I still trust them more than those government workers!

Also, I know your pain as far as trying to get a 360 from Microsoft for reviewing purposes.  *sigh*  What a hassle.  But it's good to see that Sony is gung-ho.  Is it a debug unit, or do they even bother with debug units in this day and age anymore?  lol

Trust me. The PS3 is a much better choice. In my opinion of course. I've had both. Note the past tense HAD. This is because I no longer have the xbox. Due to it being as fragile as an egg.
