Hey all! Thanks for stopping by! Lots of reviews for your reading pleasure today, as GrrlGamer updates for the penultimate time in 2008! Out of our 20+
new reviews, which include games like Fallout 3 and Valkyria Chronicles, a whopping 10 of them were written by yours truly, so hopefully there's at least one game here to interest everyone young or old:
Even after all of this, I still have at least seven items to review for our next update, hence my reviewing so many for today's. One particular item to note for the next update isn't a game at all, but instead a DVD that will fit into our "DVD's for Geeks and Gamers" section quite nicely: Transformers Energon: The Ultimate Collection.

Pretty cool, no?
This seven disc set won't even come out until the 16th, but I've had it for a little over a week, and while I haven't taken the time to watch it yet (with all of those games to play, that should be understandable), I'm sure I'll enjoy it thoroughly once I do.
In other gaming news, I reached the pro level in Wii Sports bowling yesterday, and I hit a grand-slam in baseball this morning (which is really saying something seeing as how I can barely hit a home run to save my life - definitely a fluke, that one).
I've also played a bit of Resident Evil 4 on the Wii, which was actually easier to become acclimated to than I suspected it would be, being that I was so used to the PS2 version's controls. Aiming is as simple as pointing the remote at the screen, and wielding the knife also blends seamlessly into the gameplay, as you can simply swing the remote in any direction to slice at whatever is in front of you. I haven't made it to the more challenging parts of the game yet, but I've definitely enjoyed what I've played so far. Great way to spend $9.95, let me tell you.
But enough of that - I know you're here because I mentioned
free games, so here ya go: Go to
GrrlGamer's home page and enter one of the two new contests we have opened up. The first is for a copy of Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams on the DS (one I will be reviewing for our next update), and the second is for a Crypto bobblehead, that being Crypto from THQ's new Destroy All Humans! title: Path of the Furon. Good luck to all who enter!
Until next time!
