I was hoping to get a next gen console by this Christmas but I think that may end up not happening. If so it'll be weird to go this long into a gen not having a current thing...I got a PS4 about a year after the gen started. I guess it's convenient that the current gen for games is kind of only kicking into gear in 2022. Hopefully by then they'll be a little more plentiful.

I always thought DQ3 was the definitive classic DQ at this point. It the first one I played. I never finished it as a kid but I've beaten it a few times now and I love it.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses. My Switch it at the repair shop right now (dying fan and poor right Joycon) but I'm almost through the second of the three houses stories. I like it! I've always liked the FE games. This one has done away with the rock-paper-scissors style which makes it easier than my memories of other ones I've played.

Odd comparison but I think I like Xcom level of difficulty more than the latest FE (earlier this year I played War of the Chosen) although I don't play that game correctly because I never let anyone die.

@tartyron: Until you reach the point where you would need to basically replace the whole thing, then get a new console since graphics cards are absurdly expensive, put the whole thing off for a few years, and become and off-and-on PC gamer (like me!)

Luckily my poor memory means that when there are games I'm interested in at one point, I end up forgetting they exist if I don't get them. As an adult without kids I have more time than many for gaming but even then there's so many games I won't get to that I just don't worry about it.

I have forgotten to save my game once or twice after a lengthy session, losing a couple hours in the process. I can't think of a time I ever saved over a save file (although I'm sure I did as a kid) or had something corrupted. A bunch of people in the replies here seem to have transferred hard drives and stuff over the years and I've never done that. The only time I upgraded a hard drive in a console was as soon as I got the PS4 so I hadn't done anything with it yet.

Jan was crackling with quick lines top to bottom! There was one or two classic Giantbomb messy segues which is classic.

Great 'cast!

Sucks that you don't like who you work for otherwise your perspective may be different but if you can voluntarily walk back over time then you should definitely do that to spend some time exploring your options or desires (if you're lucky enough to figure that out). Even doing that I have to give props to you. I was laid off for a a few months at the start of covid and tried looking around for what I wanted to do with my career and never got much of anywhere so it still takes a lot of mental effort to work 40 hours and spend time exploring big decisions.
