I like owning a smartphone and it's got me out of a lot of messes:

getting lost,

reminding me of friends birthdays just as I'm about to call them,

allowing me to check wikipedia and show people how full of s*** they really are

So, yeah, it makes my life better, now I don't have to use my brain as much.

I don't think she necessarily hates video games, from what I could tell the article ended on a somewhat pleasant note, she said " Some are fun, imaginative and even beautiful. It is possible I might play them voluntarily one day but...". It's kinda hard to expect an outsider, especially a mom with two kids and a job to "just get" video games from the start, especially given the games she was exposed to (Mass Effect 3?WTF?). It's good that she tried, maybe in the future she'll keep an open mind towards vidja games, and that's the best that we can expect from "people like her".

Even if they don't deliver on what they promised, it's still going to be a good game, I have faith in the guys at Obsidian. How could I not give them my money?

Maybe Dave could do this Endurance Run, think about it it makes total sense. The Dwarf Fortress videos were pretty cool, an no story in that game either.

Think about this, what if Ryan was the one playing the game and Patrick rode shotgun and explained all the game's systems?

TNG is the essentials. Maybe skip the first season but if you really want to get into it, you should probably suffer through it. As for the original series, the show can be real tough to go back to but the movies are great. If you still want more, get into DS9.

I started TNG About a year ago for the first time and not knowing what it turns into makes the first season or two bearable. I started to get into and was making my way through it fine, Best of Both Worlds was definitely when I got hooked and I watched the rest really quickly?

Accidental question marks make every post more interesting.

You've NEVER seen any of Star Trek series? How is that even possible? I don't think you can even call yourself a sci-fi fan if you've never seen Star Trek, Star Wars and The Twilight Zone. Get on it right now, watch TNG and maek sure to start with the first season because the series frequently makes reference to previous episodes.

My laptop. Bought a 13 inch model for 1000$(plus another 100$ to upgrade to 8Gb RAM) in favor of the 15 inch model which was 800$ and had better specs. I thought that the better portability and battery life would make up for the lower specs. Turns out that I can't do my job properly (web dev here folks) on a 13 inch display and I have to use the laptop at work because my employers are incredibly cheap bastards. Oh, and the battery barely lasts 3 hours. Damn you Lenovo!

But it's not all bad, I may be getting a promotion next month, maybe I'll get an ultrabook. What do you guys think? Would that be a good investment? Please don't tell me to buy a Mac, they're really expensive where I live and good luck getting customer support for Apple products in Romania.
