Nate's Games That Have Defined Moments In His Life

List items

  • This was the first video game I have ever played. It deserves the top spot because it literally taught me the word video-game. I still remember sitting at the tabletop arcade cabinet in Mr. Gatti's Pizza Playing for a quarter a pop.

  • This one is near and dear to my heart because when I was 6 years old and got my first home console (NES) this was the first game I ever owned.

  • Yeah OK laugh if you want to but I loved that game as a kid and had great times playing it, and had NO idea I was playing a game by the people who would later change my video game world with Final Fantasy.

  • The first game that I played with other people. The first Game I ever threw a controller while playing. The first game to cause a physical (though minor) altercation with a friend. In short A game of first. Though my copy just said street fighter II turbo, none of that Super nonsense but I couldn't find that in the list of pictures.

  • The first game to have moments that genuinely freaked me out. Playing that game in the dark was spooky, and I loved the puzzles.

  • I had no idea what I was getting into when I went to spend the night at my now best friend's house all those years ago but lets just say I did not know the names of any video game music composers until this game came along. Side note: Nobuo Uematsu also did the music on 3-D world runner and Hironobu Sakaguchi designed 3-D world runner.

  • This game taught me the acronym MMORPG. It lowered my GPA due to incomplete homework, and it was a great escape into a fantasy world with a social aspect that I had never even thought about being a part of games before hand.

  • The game that taught me that dragging corpses in EQ really sucked and was a terrible game mechanic. Basically the improved version of what ever quest once was in my life, I have spent countless hours and vast amounts of moneys on this game. Though I have since quit and am on the road to recovery. *update 4/24/10: I have fallen off the wagon and I am once again a full blown WoW-head. I mean cataclysm is coming and I gotta be there for that and take in the old Azeroth one last time before it gets destroyed forever. I can quit when I want. Right? No?

  • Who can argue that this is the most beautiful games on the PS3 or ANY console to date. Simply stunning and it drew me in deep to the bitter end. This game changed the way I view what is possible in console gaming.

  • The first game that I got every achievement on. A wonderful memory all round with a story I loved and good mechanics behind it.
