Yes, please rally all the "rebels" who live on the edge and canceled their subscriptions so you can all collectively leave together. If you have such little faith in the guys then why were you a subscriber in the first place. Maybe everyone should fucking listen to the words they are saying instead of immediately jumping to all this doomsday nonsense. It's getting really fucking annoying.
A lot of people are acting like fucking children, and a lot of people making wild speculations that obviously haven't watched the video (where the guys directly address a lot of the worries and complaints). AT MOST people should be cautious or skeptical, I for one am as stoked as the guys are. They are the reason I come to this website, and if they are super excited about it then why shouldn't I be? At least give them the benefit of the doubt instead of cutting and running without even giving them a chance to show you what this means.
I would refrain from calling it anything to do with nostalgia, because it doesn't necessarily have to be a play on nostalgia for it to be their favorite game (even though most of them probably will).
Wait, wasn't the original Dota an acronym? Meaning Defense of the Ancients? Sooo, if someone made a game called Dota, no acronym, is that infringing? I mean, thats like Activision keeping someone from naming their game "Cod" because thats what Call of Duty is known as to some people.
I realize thats not exactly the case here, considering Dota 2 is an exact sequel to the first one, but perhaps thats a loophole in this that could be exploited
I'm pretty sure the conversation you were talking about was actually during E3 during one of the live podcasts. It wasn't Patrick that said that, it was Brad Muir saying "I'll rip you in half, Jeff Gerstmann!" while he was joking about giving Trenched a 3 out of 5. Cowboy and David Jaffe were the other people there that day.
@Jaytow: Your sarcasm isn't helping you. And people think you are crazy not because of the point you are making, but because you felt you had to make the point in the first place. Getting upset over something so utterly meaningless and dragging the argument along the way you have is totally absurd.
@Dagbiker: I was just feeding off of what the guys on the Bombcast were talking about when they said the inclusion of quick time events was put in because western gamers said thats what they wanted. They then rightly asked "who the fuck did they talk to that said they wanted that?" I assumed it was the same people that said they wanted terrible screamo music for the boss fights.
@Ravenlight: I've only played 10 and 13, and I enjoyed both of them fine (no moogles and the music was fine if not great). Other than those two things I'm enjoying this game just fine
And when I mention the boss music I'm talking specifically about the Gogmagog fight and the Giant Flan fight.
