Good write up. I can't say I read this with enthusiasm, because I was (and still am) looking forward to this game.

However, it's better knowing about these things going in so one can adjust to some awkwardness. It still sounds like a very good game, though perhaps not quite up to the finesse and finish one might think it should have as the next effort. It's been so long since I played Salt and Sanctuary, I probably would have lost the sense of continuity of a good bit of it, but not all.

It seems like all my yesterdays have been Elden Ring. I do suspect all my tomorrows will be again, Elden Ring.

And of course, today was Elden Ring, wanting to continue Sorceress Sellen's quest, but finding a Boss-fight in Castle Redmane that kicked my ass two weeks ago, but perhaps, I have a chance now. It's those two assholes who hang right by the grace in the Castle.

All things have become Elden Ring.

But I have been building up an interest in other games, and besides others, it seems like Cyberpunk has finally baked long enough to be worth playing. We will see.

@cornfed40: Then this will make you happy.

I killed a Dragon last night with bow and arrow. I ran out of FP, but then the Dragon managed to get hung up on one those huge basalt rocks, or something similar. Somehow, I was at the perfect angle to keep it coming forward with the geometry in the way, locking it up.

I don't know if I have really noticed armpit hair for any sex in a video game. But then I just do not look for it, non important. I guess for men there has been hairy chests. Like Snake getting tortured or what-not.

If any one had armpit hair, it would be Aloy though. All fine by me.

I know I am probably ignorant, but I thought arm pit hair and women was more of a U.S. problem, as opposed to European.

And I cannot go a day without washing my hair, because I can look absolutely wild in the morning, not in a good way. And I am a guy.

One promising thing I have read lately (pc gamer I believe) is that GPU's are now starting to become easier to find. Too late by a few weeks for me, I found a 3080 using the Newegg shuffle (a story in itself). But the companies I have seen, both not recommended and recommended by threads here for pre-builds, have either left me going bah (Alienware) or gasping for what others considered reasonable cost.

But more supply should lead to drop in demand and hopefully, drop in price. Building your own was the way to beat the game, and have your own stamp on choice of components, including aesthetic.

I'm just staggering around doing prisoner. I just beat Gridlock or whoever he is, playing down and dirty with an NPC I met, and my jellyfish. I have little conception how to play my character, but saw something on the Wiki called 'Enchanted Knight', that appealed to me as a destination.

It's been fun, but I'd really like to lose the helmet. Which I do take off occasionally.

Two equal front runners; System Shock 2 and Deus Ex. It was in the beginning of my long run with games, but both were already a touch old by the time I saw them. Playing those 2 games really made me think that gaming had really gone in a cool direction, not bounded by limits as other media could be, a feeling that since then has not always born out. Games do have to sell, especially if doing sequels. But I still feel the BioShock series, and to most extant the later Deus Ex games, did or tried to hold to some standards besides mass appeal, thus mass monies.

My problem is that I am still trying to understand my class. I started off as a Warrior, and got bored as poop quickly. So I am now trying Prisoner, with no previous experience on how to do magic builds. In this context, I just dealt with Margit, and had a whole lot of fun with him. Lets just say I got to know him and his moves so very well by constant repeats.

But, other gripes about him aside, he struck me as the usual ( sometimes maybe unfair(?)) Big Dark Souls Boss. Perhaps even more, well negative something, than in games past. Gawd the rush when I finally beat him. But I tightened up my play dealing with Margit, also.

" Even stoned didn't help. So......"

Ohverture sums it up so correctly. I tried watching it (or I think the one after), about 2 weeks ago, renting from that online store The only funny parts were him blowing up his crew, and pasting a mustache on his lady co-hort to look like a hippie.

Yeah.

It didn't go very far.

PS- I did really enjoy that skit they had on SNL a short while ago. That worked!

I have no direct advice to give you, but I checked out the wiki today, and the Confessor was described very much as a Paladin class in effect.

I was thinking of the Confessor myself. Something different than the Warrior I started out as.
