Don't want to keep this conversation going and taking up space, I just wanted to comment one last time. I actually just finished going through all box cover images I uploaded and doing a more in depth look and a comparison of them and I actually found some others that appeared cropped or edited in some way. Now that I have the ability to delete images though I've since gone back through and removed any offending box cover images and either replaced them or in some cases substituted the best non box cover image I could.

Once again, I apologize to the community and the website as a whole for overlooking these images. I am now 100% confident that every image I've uploaded is either from an original screenshot I've taken or is from the web and has no watermark or any indication of editing out of a watermark. In fact through my more in depth box search examination, I actually found an even better box shot of Rise of the Dragon that is uncropped and has no watermark. My fault for not looking harder in the first place.

Wow, conversation still going? Just thought I'd clarify, I didn't crop the image. If I see a watermark I don't use an image. In fact if you look you'll see I've posted about deleting images I've accidentally uploaded that have watermarks. Google images is my main source. In fact Endogene knows as he's the one who has deleted some of my mistakes. Thanks by the way Endo. Really, I apologize for uploading a bad copy but I've been focusing on finding images of pretty old obscure games, and 90% of these I've never played and therefore have never seen the covers of. I will pay more attention though and try to see if I can notice cropping or perhaps find a second image that I can compare to.

In fact now you've got me wondering if I've screwed up any other covers. I think I'll go back through and start examining some of my uploads more closely. I'm really not trying to do anything bad other than just contribute to this awesome site and support a few guys whose reviews and careers I've followed for some years.

I think this one should be the real one.

This one should probably just be deleted as I'm pretty positive its a duplicate and it has no data anyway.

All of these

have watermarks and therefore should be removed. Sorry. Finding images for obscure games can be tough and I when I came across these I didn't even notice there were watermarks.

Sorry, I accidentally uploaded this image with a watermark. Here is the image:
http://www.giantbomb.com/rise-of-the-dragon/61-2448/box-art/52-53295/1148148940_00/51-714704/

I uploaded an alternate version without the watermark:

If someone who has the permissions could delete the unacceptable one and maybe make the updated one the main image for the game I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Do we get the ability to delete images at 5000 points? I would love to have fixed this stupid screw up myself and not bother anyone else with it if I was able.

These two galleries should be combined. I screwed up and accidentally made a typo when adding the images.

I can assure you clarification on this issue has been given in the past, but I agree that it should be more readily available. We are currently in the process of writing a document that will (hopefully) answer all your questions, and this one will certainly be included.
Thank you so much. Your answer clears it up pretty well for me I think. I posted a topic in the Combine request forum then and I suppose those two Space Quest games should probably be combined. The story is identical in both, just graphics, interface, and a few puzzles have been modified. That also helps because there are other cases, like Police Quest, Kings Quest, and Quest for Glory, where they remade the first in the series. I think your idea about just adding images from the remake and putting them in their own gallery is probably the smartest idea, because as info pages go, something can be said about the remake but there isn't enough separate information to warrant its own page.

I'm not sure on the official policy here especially since I see it being handled differently with different games.

Space Quest: The Sarien Encounter and Space Quest I: Roger Wilco in the Sarien Encounter are mostly the same game except the second one is a VGA remake of the first. The graphics and interface were all overhauled and some of the puzzles were changed or updated. But the story itself is entirely the same. So what is the policy here? I really would like, and I know others would as well, some official clarification on this. For instance, there are some other old Sierra adventure games that have VGA remakes but I don't currently see seperate pages for these games. Should I recommend they be created? Or should they and the two Space Quest games mentioned previously be combined into one page?

It seems like, from a post Justin Case has made, that perhaps these two should be combined as plot wise they are entirely the same game. Perhaps the images from the VGA remake should just be put into their own gallery within the first games page?
