at it's core, there is absolutely nothing present in Gears 4 that fans of the previous 3 can't get or haven't seen already. absolutely nothing. just pop in GoW3 and *boom*, you just saved yourself $60.
the sheer degree or depth of mediocrity this game exudes (from the insultingly stupid & forgettable campaign, characters, dialogue & music) is not just disappointing, it's actually disturbing. disturbing because this game obviously wasn't made in a week. it took years, hundreds of people and millions & millions of dollars. and that this was the best they could do should have everyone terrified.
it's almost as if the people who were hired to make this game were hired on one condition: they weren't even aware of this franchise's prior existence, let alone 'not having played any of it'.
if you're a fan who's played all three or even just 'GoW3' & was hoping this game would reintroduce the franchise as one of the pillars of this console like the original had been for the 360, then this is the worst possible kind of game. it's a game that screams 'yea, we have no idea what to do with this franchise but, hey, here's more of the same you played & got tired of years ago with prettier graphics'.
