I am uber excited about this development in the gaming industry as horror is probably my favorite genre in every single medium. Comics, games, movies, film. Although I do think indies like Amnesia and Outlast helped keep horror in games alive, I think a lot of this has to do with how well The Last of Us performed. We could argue whether or not it is actually survival horror but it has elements from the genre, focused heavily on story and character, and was genuinely dread-inducing at times. I think how well it did critically and commercially told other publishers that horror is worth investing in again.
Fact: Suda51 co-direct Fatal Frame 4. From what I understand his weirdness didn't get in the way of making that a Fatal Frame ass Fatal Frame game. Wouldn't know as we never got over here, fucking Nintendo. My point is, maybe Kojima can put his weirdness aside and help produce a good ass Silent Hill game. and Del Toro I trust if he's writing it.
If you put aside time for Skyward Sword patrick, you can make time for this. I played Okami right before skyward Sword and Skyward Sword sucked in comparison when it came to my experience.
