During the Bombcast Jeff said he picked it up on Tuesday. So maybe a review towards the end of the week hopefully with a quick look as well. Probably for the best, there have been some connection issues with the online, hopefully that stuff will get sorted soon. Games a blast otherwise though.

Yep, like others have mentioned just stick with it. I would stay with the Classic controls, I think they'ere the best and most efficient once you get them down. The key is to get used to hitting gas and e-brake with you thumb at the same time, once you get the feel for it your good. No doubt this games controls have a higher learning curve than others though.

Multiplayer is amazing, so much stuff going on and the levels are huge! Once you get the hang of the controls the options you have with the weapons and cars really open up for you. MP feels really fresh, much different and a welcome change from other shooters.

Single player is cool, definitely has a very old school feel. The game is pretty hard on higher settings. The live action cutscenes while a bit cheesy at times, are cool and at least unique from other games.

The MP is where it's at so far. Its funny seeing how bad everyone is, you can tell there hasn't been a car combat game out in a while. It's neat seeing everyone start out at a somewhat equal skill level. Although there are certainly some ballers already.

Absolutely, loved the demo. Controls definitely have a learning curve to them, but the game really opens up once you get them down. I was really surprised at how much depth is in this game, multiple firing modes for many weapons and tons of secrets and shortcuts on the map. Very impressed, will be picking this up day one.

Day one for me. Nostalgia has been very kind to me in the last year. Mortal Kombat and Rayman: Origins turned out to be some of my favorite games this gen, hopefully that trend will continue with Twisted Metal.

Despite the lack of any kind of attention from gaming sites and podcasts it's pre-order numbers are actually doing pretty damn well. It's at 130,000 pre-orders right now, 4 weeks from launch. That's more than Amular, SSX, and Soul Caliber V, all of which release sooner as well. I'm hoping this will be a sleeper hit and end up with a solid online community, that will be crucial.

I'm with you on Twisted Metal, pretty excited to see how it turns out. Some fresh competitive multiplayer would be much appreciated, the by then numbers FPS's are starting to really wear on me. Plus that game just looks stupid fun.

Runners up are Bioshock Infinite (I like that the first run of the PS3 version will include the original Bioshock. It's been years sense I've played it and if you put a gun to my head, I would say it's probably my favorite game this generation.)

Also GTA V, if it comes out. A new GTA is always worth getting excited over.

Well I can see what's up if he did him once, but 12 times? That kid needs punishment.

I don't know, from what I read, one witness thought the kid just punched the bully in the stomach once, another said he saw four quick jabs. The number 12 sounds extreme but it happened so fast, it probably wasn't as excessive as it sounds. The reports said he tried to run away at first, so it's not like he had any kind of premeditated intentions. He probably just stabbed until the aggressor let up.

In know way would I say the kid deserved it, but you can't just attack someone because you feel like it. How many stories have you read where some kid ends up paralyzed or dead from a kick or hard hit to the head? Pretty tragic story for both families.

3. In regards to Mortal Kombat, i think i learned to take the GB crew's opinion regarding technical issues with a grain of salt. I guess the intensity and short time span with which they focus on a game, is mostly to blame for this result. I felt the 30 minute discussion on how MK9 multiplayer was borked, was baffling when I and everyone else i know who played MK9 on release had no issues with lobby matches. Matchmaking was broken ( Like every single fighting game), but who uses matchmaking in a fighting game? Again this is simply my opinion, from what i've observed.

This so much. I felt like I was in a bizarro world when they were disussing the online portion of MK. At it's worse, the online had issues 20% of the time for me (Lag, disconnects). Then they fixed it and it was much better. I'm not making excuses for it, it definitely had some issues, but some of the stuff they were saying was just plain false. Brad even said at one point "The online was unplayable for almost 6 months", this isn't remotely true in any capacity.

Love Patrick for making a case for Rayman: Origins it's a great game.

Disappointed Vinny didn't put up more of a fight for Dark Souls, it even sounded like he was going to get some support from Patrick and Brad.

How LA Noire made it to the top ten is baffling to me. I gamefly'd it, loved it for the first two hours, returned it shortly after beating the Homicide desk. I would go as far as saying that it's a bad game. The tech is pretty cool but the gameplay was incredibly unsatisfying to me. I felt like a barely had control over what Cole was saying in the interrogations. Patrick's point about the scoring system was perfect, sometimes it appears your getting scored on how efficient you solve a case and other times it seemingly ranks you based on what your captain wanted you to do. The inconsistency with the gameplay is really what broke it for me, but hey that's just me.

Overall it's pretty awesome they take you behind the curtain on this stuff. Wether I disagree with their choices or not is irrelevant, it's pretty entertaining stuff and I love them for doing it.

Saints Row Is the better experiance by far for me. Patrick's argument about radiant AI moving that series forward is what made a great case I think. Brad just sounded like a fan boy, a majority of what he had to say had to do with legacy and didn't make that great of a case in my opinion. Ryan didn't even play skyrim. What a jerk.

I agree with you about Patrick's argument. I was like, "alright, that's a really good point." It was far more convincing than Brad's entire two hours of, "BUT I CAN'T GET THIS ANYWHERE ELSE. NOTHING IS BORING AND EVERYTHING IS INCREDIBLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEE."

I'm pretty neutral when it comes to Giant Bomb representation, but I will bare-knuckle throwdown some motherfuckers during GOTY Deliberations week!

Yeah, I do have to say I gained some respect for Patrick during these deliberations even if I didn't agree with his choices at times, he seemed to make some really smart, level headed points for his cases, I thought his breakdown on why the scoring system in LA Noir was F'ed was pretty damn accurate. Brad on the other hand just goes on and on... at one point regarding Skyrim he says "I've played 60 hours of Skyrim and everything I've encountered was perfect." I mean come on dude, I love you Brad but try to keep it together. Enjoyable podcasts all around, although the fact that MK didn't make the top ten is criminal.

I've played my PS3 version for over 100 hours and have had zero problems, all my friends that have the PS3 version haven't had any problems either. From what I've read up on the lag issues, the large majority of PS3 users are fine, but there is definitely some users with real problems. I would say just play it... and cross your fingers.
