I tend to compare prices with GOG, but dammit if Steam isn't convenient for me. Most of my gaming in the last few years has shifted to PC. I think the last PS4 game I played is... Persona 5 maybe? Some of the prices on PS4 games are so crazy in the UK (I'm not sure about elsewhere but I presume equally expensive) when there's a bunch of Steam or GOG games I can get for much cheaper. I would buy digital copies of games on the PS4 but they're even more expensive than their physical copies most of the time. Also since Steam got refunds on games, that has made giving a game a try much better. I bought LA Noire on Steam during the last sale and then discovered I'm one of many who can't get the game to run. Being able to refund it instead of being stuck with it makes me a lot less bitter, lol.

Yay, Jason! We all have our ups and downs! That fact you hold the video fort down alone is crazy! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for sharing, it makes me happy to know I'm not alone in using games to help with cope with what life throws at us sometimes. Stardew Valley is a game I like to play in times when life seems to be disorderly and confusion or anxiety inducing. I'm glad it helped you in hard times!

It's really interesting to see how someone who never played these games at the time experiences them now. My thoughts and feelings on particularly VII, VIII, IX and X are coloured by the fact I was a kid/teenager when I played them. So a (reasonably ;P) grown up person playing them now is fascinating. You make many good points about how these games play out that my kid/teenager brain either didn't pay attention to, assumed I was to young to fully understand, or straight up didn't care because I was just playing Final Fantasy and back then I was in love with the franchise. Even when I go back occasionally and replay one of them, I can't help but have my nostalgic rose tinted glasses on and give passes to things that today I wouldn't. I still hope through the pain of such games, you have found a little pleasure! ^_^
