"If SF4 and DMC4 made it to PC it would seem likely that RE5 will as well, tho if it still has that clunky ass RE4 gameplay they can keep it."
You can strafe and quick select weapons without going into your inventory. There are also multiple sensitivities for the laser pointer (5 I believe).

"I hate Halo it feels so generic and all the levels feel like pre generated patterns they copied and pasted over and over again."
This guy has the right idea =D

Anyways, I thought Halo 1 PC was great fun, enjoyed it tons more than I did on the Xbox. The main problem with Halo 2 is that it's a huge piece of overrated generic crap no matter what platform it's on.

"I sold my old PC to my brother for $350, new one works fine.I realize it's a very slight upgrade but it does run better and, most importantly, my brother can stop playing Minesweeper and join in some modern gaming with me.  I gotta ask, what else could I have gotten for $700?  Hell, if I can get a C2Q and a fancy graphics card for under $750 I'd return this 'worthless hunk of metal' in a heartbeat.  Breaking $1000 wasn't an option, there are plenty of cool things I could buy for $300."
Thanks for telling me all of the other details, I hope you and your brother have fun!

9800 GTX is just an overclocked 8800 GTS 512, and you could have done that yourself. I mean the cards are only 6 months apart in terms of release. You won't see as much of a gain as you think you will.

Same goes for your processors, E5200 is an overclocked E4400 (by 500 mhz, which is easily obtained through overclocking). Overclocking your processor wouldn't result in higher framerates at your native res anyways.

Which bring us to the extra RAM: it's useless unless you plan on running two games at the same time. And RAM requirements are only going to go down once Windows 7 comes out (I have been using the beta for several months now).

Enjoy not having $700 thanks to not researching BEFORE you bought the damned thing.

Give it 6-7 months (amount of time it took for DMC4 and LP to show up on PC after console release).

"RE4 was so bad because the port was done by an outside company."
Ubisoft namely.

I really wish more people would realize this and stop putting the hate on Capcom.

Anything on GOG.com or the Steam Top Sellers list I guess.

Also, Mass Effect, Lost Planet, Battlefield 2142, Gears of War, Shadow of Chernobyl, Battleforge, and Resid- whoops, almost let it slip...

Too bad most reviewers are bashing it because they don't know the proper time to open it.

"I rather just have Dead Rising 2 now. Also I'm not the biggest fan of PC ports from Capcom as they did one for RE4 and it was terrible."
That was Ubisoft, Capcom hadn't ported a game to PC themselves since RE3 (I believe). DMC3, RE4, and Onimusha 3 were all outsourced to Ubisoft for reasons unknown, hence the the crap quality of the ports (Capcom themselves are pissed about it to this day). Also, DMC4, DR, RE5, LP, etc. are all developed first and foremost on the PC and later ported to the consoles which is why DMC4 was so fantastic on PC, the issue is whether they publish it as such. DR PC probably got tied up in that lawsuit over the Dawn of the Dead thing.

"The only thing keeping me from buying it is the text. It's completely unreadable on my SDTV. Will this be a problem in the full game?"
No it won't, they patched it to be more readable, the demo you played is from GDC 2006 a looong time before the game actually came out.

Also, make sure to get the Colonies Edition, more features, multiplayer maps, modes, character models, etc. There's also cross-platform play with GFWL (Games for Windows Live) users, which translates to even more people to play multiplayer with (which is excellent btw).
