Mirror's Edge was cool, innovative, and financially underappreciated. Seeing as how EA has cheated me out of my Mirror's Edge 2 fix, Brink is getting me all hot and bothered with its SMART movement system.
The art design and colors are pretty awesome as well.

Holy crap. Last year's reveal was exciting, but "Lightning Bolt Action" meant very little without gameplay to associate the newly-titled genre with. I went in, expecting an evolved hack-and-slasher, but Hideo and his protege went beyond that. The technology behind the unveiled dismemberment was mind-blowing to say the least. Before, I wondered what Raiden's story arc would be, what the setting would be, etc. Now, I just want to play the game and cut shit in half.

This one doesn't need any introduction. Team ICO is making it, therefore I want it. They've said they'll deliver something unexpected, which leads one to a conundrum, a paradox: does Fumito Ueda mean either the boy or the dragon will die, or does he assume we expect death, so no one will die? My anticipation is on the brink of ripping me apart; only a dose of The Last Guardian will soothe my soul.
Also, that is one cute kitty dragon.

I was astounded when I read the comments on multiple gaming sites after the Microsoft conference was concluded: people STILL thought Natal, er, pardon, Kinect, was dumb. I can only conclude we were watching two different conferences because I was left speechless. I was impressed, at least on a technological level, by all of the demos. Before today, I would never consider purchasing an exer-game, but EA's fitness game was tantalizing. The Kinectimals demo was a bit painful for a jaded grown man like me to watch, but I could see its appeal. I could go on to justify every Kinect demo, but I don't feel the need to: it already did it by its lonesome.

My whole Monday morning and afternoon was filled with 'holy crap' moments, and Rayman: Origins is a definite candidate for the Top 5 Holy Crap Announcement. It's an incredible surprise to see a franchise, kept alive only by tangential mini-game compilations, revived after such a long time.

There had been rumors prior to E3 that Retro was making a Donkey Kong game, and I was worried it would a 3D adventure similar to DK64. I personally didn't play a lot of games during my childhood: my only console, the SNES, had a single-digit catalogue - the three Donkey Kong Country games, Killer Instinct, Pinocchio and Toy Story. The Donkey Kong Country franchise holds a very special position in the hierarchy of things that is my heart, and I can't wait to see what the fourth installment brings so many years later. My only remaining hope for the game is that David Wise returns to score the game.

Ever since its single concept art reveal from last year, the gaming community has been salivating for more, more, MORE! With today's Nintendo conference, we got our wish. I have no doubt that the game will be amazing. What impressed me most was the art direction: half way between the cel-shaded Wind Waker and the realistic Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, to quote Iwata, looks like a watercolor painting. Now if only they had announced it for the Wii HD...

A triple home-run for Nintendo concludes with Kirby. I thought Reggie's yarn metaphors were incredibly funny, but as they became more and more frequent, it hit me: yarn has something to do with the game. I was not disappointed: indeed, the simple mechanic of thread and now it interacts with objects was a main focal point of the gameplay video, and it was damn cool. The mere fact that scenery can be manipulated as if tied down with string makes me yearn (yarn?) this game that much more.

It's omission this year was incredibly awkward, especially after its recent mention in the gaming press, but I'm not giving up hope: if Ubisoft has ordained that Ancel is allowed to make a Rayman sequel to a franchise that's been dead for years, surely BG&E2 is all but confirmed.

A joke entry for sure; I just find it incredibly funny that it's called 'Fitness Evolved' and the inevitable comparisons to 'Combat Evolved' that will soon follow. I'm waiting for the photoshopped Halo boxart.
