I know that Sven is referring to the original attack by Anonymous, but I think ti's important to better distinguish the difference between their attack--affecting PSN for a couple days--and the PSN data breach we are experiencing today that is affecting the service for weeks.

DoS (Denial of Service) attacks affect service availability, while breaching security for data theft is a whole other ball game. One is effectively vandalism while the other is an organised heist.

Capcom's greater loss is caused by the data theft incident, which as far as we know at this point does not seem to be the same group that caused the DoS attack the month before. The "cause" as Sven puts it behind the data theft, is most likely financially driven. There is nothing sympathetic about this cause.

Perhaps "unfit to be a gamer" is someone who is so unfit that they can't even manage to sit through a gaming session without passing out. Sitting in a chair and clicking furiously can be exhausting I hear.

While I would love to try and compete at their level, I am worried about what my friends and family would think when they see my right arm twice as large as my left and think I may need to lay off Internet porn. Eh, I should probably do that anyway.

Publishers/Developers need to find incentive for fans to get excited about their DLC. Something like this offers no motivation for players who have already beat the game (in some occasions multiple times). I found this problem with Assassin's Creed 2's DLC. After playing through the game and experienced the plot twist, Ezio's backstory became insignificant and all care for the DLC went out the window.

Content delivery is indeed a very expensive service to offer; especially if it's in 720p+ and having average video length of about 20 minutes. Not only would GB/Whisky Media have to shell more for bandwidth, they'd also need to have the hardware to support it; bigger, faster servers and fatter pipes.

The alternative solution is to look at CDN through something like Akamai (what Youtube uses) through EdgeControl and perhaps RTMP for video streaming.

Either case, it'll cost a lot more with fairly minor returns. I would prefer GB put that money towards even more GB-esque shenanigans.

By the way, I would pay to watch some sort of wresting cross-over between Giant Bomb v.s. Tested v.s. Screened; akin to something like Capcom v.s. Marvel.

Yes Brad, there is interest. Please do more. About the only thing I'd hope you can refrain would be any potential spoilers to the single player campaign for those that can only chew through a few missions a day.

And as for music, fuck that. I'll take my freely transferable mp3s from Amazon, kthx. "
iTunes music are DRM free, so it's also freely transferable; unless you mean you don't like the AAC format. In which case, feel free to transcode it to OGG or MP3--no one is stopping you.

@neoepoch: If you make a request to Apple customer support, they'll sometimes let you re-download the music. Once the re-download is activated, they'll flag those purchased items as reimbursed. Not that it's comparable but iTunes music are now DRM-free (since early last year, if I recall correctly) while games on Steam aren't.

The act of camping and teabagging corpses while yelling profanities as a form of favourite pass-time is a fascinating yet objectionable social behaviour. I've seen a couple creative griefing in my time but generally others find it irritating and juvenile. I have done it several times in WoW. The PvP servers  makes it a very alluring environment and even encourages it. Hence when it comes to my opinion of griefing, my judging hammer will remain strictly in my pockets. However, of the times I take on the griefer personae, I try to do it in a creative and curse-free manner. I'm not against swearing but I find the challenge of not using it adds another dimension to the activity. It's even more rewarding when the victim acknowledges the ingenuity.

That said, I think it's a different story when griefing becomes an uncontrollable habit--that the only way to extract fun in a game is to jerk their e-peen and vomit expletives against their online peers time and time again. Hurrah, you've managed to make a dozen fewer friends. Way to go.

The key to what I'd consider an acceptable form of griefing would be:

1. to play within the rules of the game. i.e. no cheating!
2. to offer an unique perspective of the gameplay to your victims. i.e. challenge them to be better at the game.
3. don't take enjoyment out of being a jerk. If you like griefing because someone else's misfortune makes you happy; see a shrink.
4. If you really must swear, make sure not to step over the bounds into obscenity. i.e. yelling racial slurs just makes you look like an ignorant fool.
5. Be a good sport, offer a truce. They don't have to take it--after all, you probably made their life hell for a short while. But at the least, once you've tossed your e-peen around, the least you can do is wash it.

" I find Apple overly-expensive as well as too controlling over their products. There are many features, on the iPhone for instance, which are present in many other phones which will probably be never present in the iPhone.  "

From a feature-to-feature perspective, I would agree with you. However, at least for me, that's not why I chose the iPhone. Of the phones I've used, I find the iPhone to be most enjoyable to use. Apple's detail over UI+UX (interface/interaction/experience) is what drew me to it.

Apple's single-mindedness over content control (you can't sync your phone on two computers without hack) is irritating and the price of the "privilege" to own an Apple product may be contentious to some; no arguments there.

@oldschool: Fair enough.

Not that clarification is needed, I am not affiliated with Apple in any way, shape or form. That being said, if they want to pay me to say nice things about them -- let's just say, talk to my agent. My price is reasonable ;)

Kidding aside, I'm an open source software developer, so in principal, Google's android platform falls more in line with my philosophies. I just want people to be more informed about the topics before they make a comment. I know that's like asking Vinny to change his opinion on Flower; it just ain't gonna happen. But that's why I'm ranting and not trying to spearhead an anti-stupid movement.
