@Imperial_ninjA: Thanks! I've actually played way more than this, but I was very strict on myself and only put down games that I have actually beaten :P . I have been doing this for a while now, and when Giant Bomb showed up with their Lists, I figured it was the perfect place to put it up.

Apparently I have gotten better at beating games, since most of them are from the 360.

I was thinking of doing something like this myself. Does it automatically alphabetize the list?

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff
@Keeng: Sadly, no. I had to go through and order them once we were given the ability to. Should be easier if you are just starting out, though!

So is beat only the main story, or "done it to death"?

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff
@skavanker: It just means I've beaten the game, which usually does mean the main story, though if there isn't a main story I go by other rules to consider a game "beaten" (like for Uno on Live Arcade, I considered getting all of the achievements as beating it). I like to play a lot of games, and usually when I beat a game I am done with it. Of course, there are a few great games that I play over and over, which I mention sometimes.

The list doesn't include games I haven't actually beat. For example, I got right to the end of Final Fantasy VIII, but did not actually go through the final bosses and see the ending. That is a game I intend to buy again and beat.

@Vito_Raliffe: Oh, thanks. Anyway, its a very impressive list. Maybe I'll start my own.

Yep! Just be prepared to spend a lot of time on it if you want to be thorough. I scrolled through every game in the Giant Bomb database to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I really like how you call the time of death.  I might be inspired to catalog that as well!

@Lockeyness: I think you mean the time I beat it! Who do you think I am, Brad or something?! :P

@Vito_Raliffe: Boom!

How do you beat Sims and Tribes? lol

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff
@DryvBy: Good question!

For games like The Sims or Tribes that don't have a real ending but that I want a record of playing a ton of, I consider seeing all there is to see to be considered beating it. So when I have played a game a bunch and have experienced pretty much all there is to be experienced, I count it as beaten.

The same goes for a multiplayer-only game that has its servers permanently shut down. If I played a ton of it and saw all of the content, and then it is impossible to play it anymore, I add it to the list as well!

For games that do have a proper end, I only count those when I actually complete them all the way through.

Hey man nice list, keep updating!

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff
@Sulla: Thanks! I've come too far to stop now!

Why don't I see Star Wars: Republic Commando on here?

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff

@SleepingLesson: I only played the demo of that. :( It was one of those things I always meant to play but never got around to!

Great idea for a list! Seeing that I play a ton more games than I actually manage to finish (really bad at finishing games - but doing better than I used to). I should add my own such list. Looks like you make it a habit to do so, wow what a list.

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff

@SLowrAM: Yep! The first thing I do after I beat a game is come here and add to the list, along with the offline version I keep. It takes a while to initially build the list, but it's worth it in the end. As long as you make sure to always update it, it's no problem!

This is one heck of a list duder. Made for some great reading, and even brought back a few game-beating memories of my own!

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff

@dankempster: Thank you! It takes a while, but you should consider making a list of your own! Hopefully it will end up being bigger than your "Pile of Shame" list. :P

Posted by dankempster

@CharlesAlanRatliff: I've been keeping similar lists since 2009 - they haven't quite surmounted my Pile of Shame yet, but they're coming close. I'm not sure I could put together a comprehensive list going back any further than that though, my memory is like a sieve. It's nice to have a listed record of one's gaming conquests. Makes for interesting reading, and it's cool to be able to look back on what you've achieved.

Nice list!

Weird thing: there's a game with a comment but no name between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project. Did something get deleted from the GB game database?

Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff

@pnevares: Thank you! And thanks for letting me know; it seems that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game was deleted and had its info placed onto the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles page, which makes sense as they are technically the same game.
