Apparently the folks at Intel are not only working on the first Larrabee processor: they’ve also begun developing the Larrabee 2.

According to a job posting on Intel’s very own website :

LRB Front-End Logic Design Eng – 558503

Description

In this position, you will be playing a key technical role in front end development of the LRB2 design.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Micro-architecture development and RTL design of one or more complex functional units
- Working with architecture teams to scope out implementation costs, power-performance tradeoffs and propose alternative solutions
- Working with validation teams to drive appropriate validation strategies and actively contributing to a high quality design
- Working with backend teams to enable convergence to meet aggressive design targets
- Contributing to advancing design processes/design methodologies

Thanks to nAo on B3D forums.

PS: this is old news (October) for some but I only learned about it today.

Hey folks,

Sorry for the ones expecting videos or screenshots, but this is merely to report a blogpost about Project Offset and the Larrabee processor:

And the Project Offset team gave the last session of the [Intel Visual Computing Summit] with a discussion about what the Offset engine is doing with Larrabee and a demo. Offset should be the perfect showcase title for Larrabee.         [Phil Taylor]

Full blog post here but there's nothing more about Project Offset.  Also, the IVCS agenda.

So there's much love in the air between Larrabee and Project Offset.  I for one approve... now make some babies!

Remember that game studio that was bought by Intel in February 2008?  Here, let me refresh your memory with a little picture :

Me lookin' fancy!
Me lookin' fancy!

Since Intel got involved in the studio's business, little to no new information has been released.  But the attentive reader will pick up a few bits of info on the now up and working forums :

I realize now you might not be able to open the links as you need to be logged in to see user-specific posts.  Nonetheless, if you do log in, call up a list of all posts made by PaulTozour and you should find all the info mentioned above.

At the end of the day, one question remains : Will this game ever make its way into our homes or will it remain nothing more than a tech demo?  Judging from the list of employees working on creating game content, I'd have to say that the future looks bright my friends.

Only time will tell.

Just thought I'd do a little roundup of the Prince of Persia scores so far since I'm probably not the only one keeping an eye on this one.  I've combined all reviews, whatever the console it was reviewed on :
Prince of Persia
Prince of Persia

Reviewer Score
Gamepro 100/100
IGN UK 94/100
IGN 93/100
Gameplayer 90/100
Playstation Offical Magazine Australia 90/100
3DJuegos 90/100
VideoGamer 90/100
GamingXP
Gametrailers
Gamer's Hell
1UP
Meristation
90/100
87/100
85/100
83/100
80/100
METACRITIC OVERALL SCORE :  90/100

Worth mentioning :  Even though the main adventure can be completed in under 10 hours, Hilary Goldstein from IGN says - "Prince of Persia will be one of the few games from this generation that I will carry with me for the next decade."  I think that's the best compliment any reviewer can give.

I'll keep updating as more reviews come in.

O GiantBomb, where art thou?
