@castiel: No, my problem is not the games, it is that Sony played a trick and everybody is swallowing it. Everybody is also thinking that things will stay the same. When people don't care to address the issues, they give free reigns for Sony to go further. PS+ is great but there is no guarantees that it will remain like that, only thing that is sure that there is no free online and I think people should call them out for that. People should not be like "take my sweet virginity, master Sony", they should be more like "OK, you have my interest, what more you got for me".
PS+ has made the PS3 the main console, and to the only console that I have played within the few months. That said during the last half year I have been buying games only for the PC and that wont change for a year or two.
Eh, most gamers are naive sheep with no long term memory. Sony and Microsoft have to only do minimal tricks to herd them back into the pen, no matter how many times they have bitten them.
It's fair enough + it's still a great deal as you get a bunch of free games every month.
Where do these "free games" come from in the first few years? Are they going to make another Demon's Souls or Cathrine and release it free for PS+ right away? No. PS+ has free games because it is late in the console lifecycle and Sony needed some good PR - kind of PR that will make people to turn the blind eye when they change things for the worse. PS+ is great service now in the PS3, but that does not mean it I will be that on the PS4 - it could be, but not for a year or two. It seems better than what the Microsoft is offering and most likely will be, but it is a step down from what we have now with PS3.
"I have PS+ already" is pretty shitty thinking unless you bought some kind of lifetime one-off membership. Is the price going to remain the same? Do they change things if they get big enough market share? What happened to Linux, PS2 backward compatibility and region free games with PS3 ? (Answer: They changed their stance about those things after launch.) Do you get the same value out of the new PS+? We don't know yet, all we know is that if we want the same that we got with PS3, we will have to pay.
How can you not care when something free becomes something you have to pay for? Are you idiots? PS+ is great right now and worth it, but there are no guarantees that it will stay like that. PS+ gives free games now because it has to - for PR, not because it is charitable.
