@Ahmad_Metallic: I may or may not have taken certain advice you prescribed. basically the game is unplayable. I figured I'd answer back to the thread in case anyone gets a google search result back to it with my setup by any chance, as I did while doing research.
I used to have an xbox, it rrod'd on me, and now I want me some l4d. I'd even take l4d one, honestly. I'd settle for absolute minimum graphics, but I just don't want to buy it and have it be unplayable. if anyone can tell me definitively that it won't play, i'd take their word. If it helps, my current setup plays cs:s and tf2 pretty well, i just turn the graphics down a bit and the direct x down.

Doubt it, especially as I don't think you can turn it down to DX8.
it's a launch command in the properties of other steam source games, I figured it would apply to l4d as well :\
even if I turn the direct x down? doesn't make a difference does it? any chance I could run even l4d 1? I don't have an xbox and I just really want to play it haha
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz 4GB RAM running vista Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family (yes, it's an integrated graphics card)
I was planning on turning the direct x down to 8, thats what I do for tf2 and cs:s. will I be able to run it? thanks in advance guys if you're just going to like me to canyourunit, i don't meet the minimum because they say my graphics card does not have hardware t&l. can I still run it on lowest settings though?
I realize this will probably be moved very quickly, but the left 4 dead 2 board is well.. dead. I just want an answer and then the thread can be locked if the powers that be wish it so.
EDIT: the game is unplayable with my current setup, as I have found out
