I haven't posted here since 2011! NeoGAF was an excellent forum, I really hope it returns. I was never even aware of who owned or operated the site, and I honestly didn't/don't care. The community was fantastic, extremely active, the forums were simple and easy to read.

All I know is since things went all "premium" it seems the site has significantly less content that interests me than it did before, and lost a lot of its charm. The Bombcast is still excellent as always, but what happened to TANG, consistent video reviews, general shenanigans, and news that's on par with other gaming sites(a lot of important stories never even get posted on GB anymore - instead it's a lot of indie stuff/fighting game updates)?

Can they patch out the first 6 hours of the game, and all the useless dialogue too?

I'd rather have the 3DS get a hardware revision with non-laughable battery life, built-in second circle pad, significantly better online functionally across the board, and a decent sized screen(preferably 4.3") that can go brighter than the current model with better 3D viewing angles.

I don't pay for Live, and never will. Silver is a joke, they might as well just say no membership.

Looks like I'm not using my PS3 for anything online now. Not giving my rights away. This country is letting large corporations own us. The Supreme Court is a bunch of geriatric old fucks who live in mansions and don't give a shit about REAL hard working Americans.

Windows 8 looks so God awful, and straight up ugly to me. It's like Zune for your PC.

-Shit battery life.

-Small, low-res screens.

-Borderline unfinished hardware design.

-$40 Rehash games.

-$20 band-aid second analog add-on.

-Obvious superior revision coming next year.

-Garbage "online," which is barely even there at all.

-Wasteland eShop with old late 80's Gameboy titles.

-3D effect that is ruined if you don't hold the system perfectly still, and if the perfect position. Negating most gyro or AR based gameplay.

-Region locked.

My opinion:

Incredibly underwhelming press conference. Nothing of note for most gamers outside of Japan was announced besides Fire Emblem, which I'm not even sure could be consider a "big" title really.

Mostly just games we have known about for months, that won't be released until an unknown date in 2012. It's still going to be a pretty stale year for the 3DS in 2011 outside of Mario 3D Land.

Second circle pad not announced, but does that mean it's not coming? No, it's definitely still coming. I haven't seen confirmation that it was fake at all yet. My best guess is that Nintendo decided to not announce it at the press conference after seeing the massive backlash it got all week from the "leak."

Monster Hunter was by and away the really only "big" thing announced. A title that has only caught on in Japan. A series I've tried to get into, but personally don't care for.

So for me this entire thing just reaffirmed my choice of waiting on the 3DS being the right one. I don't see myself wanting this hardware anytime soon.
