I haven't played the Witcher 2 but a good rule of thumb is turning off AA on higher resolution. They're not doing much for the amount of performance they take up, in my opinion. Don't know if you have to force that through Nvidia control panel though. As I said, never played it.

Edit: and force vertical sync to be off. Not a whole lot of worth... on medium systems, right?

It used to be Psychonauts but now I have nothing. This reminds me I have to pick up a yearly game soon. Probably something from the SNES era (witch I love dearly).

Tips?

I feel your pain. I'm no expert but I've been meddling with a lot of computer components lately. I'm happy I haven't run into that sort of problem yet.

Also I agree with AlisterCat on this. The Tested forums are quite great at this.

@Christoffer:There seems to some confusion here, unless I'm confused. The names you listed are Breton, right? The Bretons are from High Rock in the northwest. It's the imperials that are from Cyrodiil.

Listed where? Do you mean Beatrice, Adrienne and Bernadette?

Yes, I meant to quote but ended up just replying. Seems like you figured it out anyway: Adrienne Berene, Beatrice Gene and Bernadette Peneles are all Bretons. The natives of Cyrodiil (the "Cyrodiilians") are actually the Imperials.

The naming convention for Bretons seems to be western European medieval-sounding names, most of them French, although some have Spanish and Portuguese names, e. g. Vicente Valtieri, that one might easily mistake for Italian.

Oh, then I was a little confused. I could've swear I looked up imperial names but I guess it was Breton then.

@BasketSnake: Liar. I've been to Norway, and I didn't see backwards flying dragons anywhere.

I'm contemplating whether to min/max the enchanting loop. My dude is 100 enchanting but only 70 alchemy. A part of me wants to max it out so my magic never goes down but I find that most of my enchanted gear does the trick anyway. Destruction virtually costs nothing to cast and I have 400+ magica stores. The only real challengers to my character's awesomeness are mages and dragons. Speaking of dragons why do two appear now instead of one?

Don't bother. Alchemy is tedious to grind out and not worth it. As you said, you kick everyones ass anyway.

It is a great mid to late game skill. The amount your alchemy goes up is based on the price of the potion, so if you have been collecting ingredients the whole game and storing them somewhere, and eating them to find out their effects, you can make incredibly expensive potions (especially when wearing enchant alchemy gear) and it levels up in no time at all.

Personally though, I only levelled it up to make enchantment and smithing potions.

It's good to have a few trick up your sleeve when you get into the tough fights, I'll give you that. A +131% damage with destruction is pretty neat, though not often needed. And once I made the most optimized gear for my character I never used enchanting again. I prepared for the game being much tougher in the end but it never happened. Thus, I think it's a waste of time to grind alchemy or enchanting.

But, of course, you can always bump the difficulty a notch.

If it's factual errors, I'll gladly apologize. If it's a matter of my own subjective opinion... never.

And forcing some reluctant staff member unto it would be a waste of time.

So Betting the Farmville was a waste of time?

No. Any serious coverage, however, I think would be a waste of time in their own opinion, at this point. This is what I meant. They're a small team (not counting interns) and cut a lot of games because of this.

With "serious coverage" I mean playing it long enough to make thoughtful judgements about every element. As in any review. Not "this is barely a game, I hate it" or scraping the surface in a short video.

How long before someone writes "Notch just ripped of Infiniminer, this isn't new"?

I like minecraft but I understand why GB have no interest in covering it. Everone knows what minecraft is, at this point. And forcing some reluctant staff member unto it would be a waste of time.

But it would be fun to maybe see Vinnie struggle with it for an hour or two, just for the humor.

Reducing the different factions to good and evil will contradict everything Bethesda has been building up. Like the conflict between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks everyone seem to have their good sides and bad sides, save for maybe the Daedra.

But, no, I don't think it would make a great MMO. They would have to evolve the whole genre for it to work. And I don't think it's in their interest. Also, there's too few primary colors and gravity defying garments for the kids to care. It would fall in the same trap as Age of Conan.
