Whole comment section talking brooches and debating jrpgs but nobody complaining at how bad Dan is at the game, disappointing!
For real tho, the combat system is super good and there are subjobs which add a ton of depth and there is fast travel so you don't have do go through the long hassle of walking across the world that he did at the beginning.
@vinny Would you consider uploading the current save so us armchair generals could have a hand at trying to save the run? It's definitely too soon to call it lost but I think it would be fun to pick up where you left off. Saves are located at Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Within\XComGame\SaveData
Great advice in the comments here covering solid mechanics, I would definitely also recommend watching some of Beaglerush's Ironman Impossible runs, they are well-edited, fun to watch, and very informative for anyone wanting to get a better idea of how to play more safely.
@rdfed: It's not a feature, they may have been talking about the original game. In this game all you need to do is stabilize, BUT you also have to successfully complete the mission, which is why Vinny died. It's sort of silly in this situation because the mission failed for failing the objectives, 99% of XCOM missions fail when the squad wipes so that's the failure condition that makes sense for losing stabilized soldiers.
I'm a HotS casual but this was really fun to watch, should be a great series! @benpack I noticed you have Warframe installed, that game rules and there's an active GB clan, would be cool to revisit some coverage since it's been through a million updates since the site first looked at it.
Somehow nobody got to this but bourbon is whiskey that is made with 51% or more corn. It doesn't matter where its made so long as it is in the US. Kentucky is known as the bourbon capital but it has no required connection to the stuff. Jack Daniels is called Tennessee whiskey but that's not a federal labeling thing, just a marketing term. It is technically bourbon, being made with 80% corn, but they prefer to call it a unique spirit because of their manufacturing process.
All of the whiskeys at the store in this video were Scotches or Yamazaki, which is a Japanese whiskey made in the same style as Scotch, but can't be called Scotch bc it is not made in Scotland. Booze.
Maaan opening with FFXI was so bizarre. I played that game on and off for more than 10 years and can name every set of armor every character in the video was wearing. It is still going and is still good, if so incredible far up its own self that a newcomer would have a hell of a time really getting into it.
Also it is by far the best localized FF game (the writing is often really clever and funny) and the most profitable FF game of all time due to people like me who subbed for years.
