Dead or Alive 7 i guess, DOA6 was amazing and while i did put plenty of time into it Tekken 7 became the most important fighting game during its time, so it's just natural to go where the player base is. I don't know what DOA would have to do to grow a larger audience other than just make new entries and hope for the best, DOA6 did everything right it's just stigma holding it back.

My joke answer that i've been putting out for a while is i want a fighting game based on the Battlefield franchise, working at DICE must be exhausting after making the same sort of game for 22 years, i'd like them to take a break and make something else and a CQC military themed fighting game would be a weird change, like when Rockstar made a very well received table tennis game.

I don't know if anything so far this year could be considered overrated, i guess i could understand people turning their nose up at the popularity of Palworld considering what it is, i haven't played it, it looks like a bit of fun.

It's a shame that my favourite video game developer of all time had to change in this way, but i am glad they did for the sake of the industry.

Yes i'm one of those "they saved PC gaming" guys but it only becomes more true every day, i'm not going to tell the story there's probably loads of Youtube videos all about it, but at a time when PC was an afterthought and the industry was going digital i believe Steam was and still is the best outcome, and the fact that no one has made a serious attempt to compete with it is evidence that they're apparently the only ones who could or cared to do it, you could even say they're having an impact on how the console makers run their stores by leading the industry in sales and features, imagine a world where no one had Steam to compare to.

Yes i wish they still made games, but i think if we were to compare them to another developer who found themselves in a similar situation it would be Blizzard, raking in billions from World of Warcraft Blizzard had the funds to do absolutely anything they wanted on their own timescale, just like Valve, yet besides a few successes somehow they still ended up bound to the shackles of corporate greed and um... other things.

I'm not waiting with baited breath for a Half Life 3 announcement, if they keep going the VR route i'll just be disappointed, but what Steam has created does make up for it, any games they do make from here are a bonus.

I voted yes but it's not like i want to be subjected to war and torture all the time, sometimes i want to platform on rainbows but that being said those games don't tend to have much of a story, so a deep child friendly story would be something like.... Pokemon i suppose... Zelda... yeah i tend to prefer mature stories.

I'll take a Witcher over a Zelda.

It's amazing they're willing to make that the plan after Suicide Squad failed so dramatically and MK1's monetisation has been met with extreme backlash.

Gerstmann compared it with losing a bet and continuing to make the same bet.

You don't need to qualify wanting a wired mouse i f***ing hate battery powered things. I use a Logitech G Pro and it's easily the best mouse i've ever had.

I experimented with ergonomic and fancy mouse shapes but everything gave me wrist pain, i have large hands and thought i needed something larger or specialised but actually a bog standard boring mouse shape is the best for me, specifically i need an area on the side for my ring finger to rest on and it's surprising how many mice have a sharp bit there or the right click button curves over the side leading to accidental clicks, i've had mine for 5 years hard use and it's still going strong, i used the software once to save my sensitivity to the on-board memory and haven't needed it since.

You may already have one, but i highly recommend a cable bungee to prevent pulling the cable and holding it over stuff.

One thing i've found listening to streamers and Youtubers about their love of the Switch is that they are often just as enamoured with the Steam Deck.

Despite being a bit larger than what i would consider a handheld portable system, it still fills an apparent need to play games portably or in bed, i played a lot of DS in bed and have fond memories of warm and cozy gaming, but i literally fall asleep within 5 minutes these days.

My opinion of the Switch has always been affected by my gaming needs, i don't need a portable device, and besides the first party titles everything looks and performs better on other systems.

So as a viewer from the outside who hasn't taken part in the great first party titles, my perception of Nintendo over the last 7 years has been that of issuing legal threats against amazing fan projects, the launch of an online service that requires you use your phone for voice chat, half assed remasterings of Mario games and making them time limited for artificial scarcity, continuing to rush the development of Pokemon games leaving them unpolished and buggy, the analog drift pandemic requiring a lacklustre pro controller, and an almost complete lack of price cuts, they're still selling the original pattern of the console which has been superseded twice by a hardware update and an OLED model, for £20 less than it launched 7 years ago. If you removed the gimmicks and made a home only model without the screen, battery, detachable controllers, gyros, dock and whatever else you could probably sell it for £80, but they'd somehow find a way to charge you £200 for the privilege.

My want for a Switch is based pretty much entirely on wanting to play Bayonetta 2, if i had one i'd probably also play Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros... and that might be it.

Any day now i can feel it
