I always want something different so i voted foot race cus i have no idea what that would be, though someone should make a high budget parkour game :P. Failing that, what does a new Smuggler's Run look like... i just like saying Smuggler's Run.
Initial thoughts: This is nuts. I haven't liked Blizzard games since Diablo 2 so whatever. I still like Call of Duty for the most part, it would be cool if they started coming out on Steam again, but MS could use its large audience to force people onto the... the Windows Store... please god no. On the console side if COD went Xbox exclusive that would be pretty crazy. Maybe less people will be treated poorly under Microsoft. Can we get more Tony Hawk games please.
I haven't heard anyone say it but i can understand someone saying it because they've gotten used to it, or because things are relatively normal now when compared to the beginning, we're definitely "post the worst of it"... at least i hope so.
They did a bad job with that tweet making it sound like 500 hours is normal, it's not, and they have corrected themselves.
When i want a single player story experience i'm hoping it's around 6-12 hours, but i do like clearing all the icons on an open world map so i'm happy to put 40-60 hours into an Assassin's Creed, then there's mindless multiplayer and repeatable games i like to play while watching streams and listening to podcasts, so naturally i'll put hundreds of hours into those.
Occasionally a game will come out that i want to "live" in, like The Witcher 3 or The Elder Scrolls, where i'm expecting to put a hundred hours in but that doesn't happen too often, i'm currently doing that with Red Dead 2 but boy that's a lot of horse riding. As far as Dying Light 2 goes i'm still not a huge zombie fan but the first was a solid 30 hour game, i'd put another 30 into a sequel.
For me i don't really have opinions about any of it, i'm as neutral as it gets, so when it starts to feel like someone is pushing it in my face in an unnatural way i can't help but be a little miffed but that goes for anything, push anything in my face and i'll be annoyed, but i'm not in a position of requiring change so i'm really not qualified to talk about it.
I have to bring up The Last of Us, both of them, it's a criticism many people have about Neil Druckmann's projects but the choices he makes are kind of blatent and in your face to a point of distraction, that's the worst example i can think of in video games but that's just me, i'm sure lots of people loved the representation.
