Endless Ocean: Blue World
What an incredible game. Twenty five hours in and it seems like I've barely played it. It's the small things that matter.
This is a game, a video game and it plays like one. At the beginning, you're introduced to the end of the story, but then you're taken back to where it all began. The story is fun and as you continue, it opens up the world in which you will dive over and over. The story can be quite touching in some moments and there are puzzles too, but nothing real hard. I've searched and found the origin of the Dragon's Song and the Pacifica Treasure, but my journey or job is not over as I've found myself searching for lost treasure, being a guide, a photographer and being a curator of a Japanese Aquarium.
The slow pace fits me well, relaxing, learning and at some points, moments of exuberance. There is so much to do in this game even after the story, it's pretty damn crazy. You can't die, but you can get bitch slapped by sharks, shocked by electric eels and attacked by piranha. You only lose oxygen, but hey, that shit still sucks. You can buy upgrades for your equipment, so you can dive deeper and longer. You have a special island reef that is yours to plant any type of coral, which you can buy, that will attract fish and maybe even a bonus fish, haven't done that yet. You can also buy stuff for your home base, Nineball Island.
Yeah, this game is rock solid and well worth the price of admission. It controls great, feels great and is full of pleasure.
