Honestly I'd consider Jeff Gerstmann and the Nextlander crew(not including Vinny cuz he's pretty positive for the most part) in this topic. Love them to bits and others may not agree but they fit my idea of cynical.
I have mine through end of '23 so if I was to jump into the Premium tier, it would be 92ish bucks. Pretty steep but I'm kinda the same way as OP, was a lot more pleasantly surprised with the list than initially expected. Also I've been increasingly interested in trying out the PC streaming as well.
At work at the moment but I've kinda already convinced myself that I'll pay the 92 since my initial thoughts were to support it for about a year initially anyway to and then decide after then if I wanted to re-up at that Premium level.
Also knowing Sony and how they are I don't mind supporting early cuz I do honestly think that they can take this service and turn it into a very compelling service, even without the Day 1 First Parties. I just also know that they are weirdly hesitant and will back away if the numbers look bad initially (*cough* *cough* VITA) and I definitely don't want this to be a similar situation where they give up.
While I get why posts like this would happen, I am very strongly in the other camp. While initially I was sad to see the old guard leave, I noticed my love for the site grew without them around. Why is this the case? Well for me, I noticed from also following Nextlander that I was kinda tired of the "old man jaded" takes coming from the old guard staff as I personally find that Vinny, Alex, and Brad, as much as I love them just seemed like they were tired of the industry and from some of their nextlander talks honestly just seem like they want to old man yell for hours. Some would argue that the site currently is "bored" but I argue that the site before was not only "bored" but extremely jaded. I loved the heavier emphasis of younger, more positive, voices such as Jan's and Jeff B's to balance out the more cranky old man voices on the pod. To each their own but I find the change to have breathed a breath of fresh air into things.
Just a thought but while listening to recent podcasts hearing Brad exaggerating the Resident Evil Village title while also including in the VIII in the title has some real "Dan pronouncing CHVRCHES" energy.
So i effed up and couldnt get around to the shirt stuff until today and the Large size of the 500 bombcast shirt is now sold out. Does anyone know if they'll get more stock or am I just out of luck?
Got this same issue but additionally I'm getting a weird video on the mobile app that says there's an issue autheticating my account when watching premium videos on the iPhone app
