I dont get pissed when people bring back good topics such as the wallpaper thread. I also dont mind when people add to the conversation of a good thread. But some threads need to die, and never be mentioned again.

I'll take your least favorite and raise you a fuck yeah: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2ExVvhzfCY

Also, working at a Grocery Store for 3 years where they played almost exclusively country has left me with a deep hatred for it.

overclocking a cpu is well within the safe limits these days with processors like the sandy bridge and others with simple multiplier based overclocking , you can easily overclock within a certain range and stay under warranty , and unless you push it (alot of ppl with i7s want to get into the 5ghz club) you wont be doing any damage really , so if its an option availabel to you , look into it .

as for video card overclocking , unfortunately pc developers havent smoothed out certain optimizatiosn that occur with overclocked gpus and you end up with some weird artifacts and crap that make it completely pointless in the first place , in some cases you end up havign to revert a pre overclocked card to standard settings to get some of these games to work properly ...

but yeh .. cpu overclocking is in a sweet spot right now with incredibly efficient aftermarket coolers and easily adjustable chipsets etc .. so id say try it!

I had that issue with my OC 560 ti, wound up over volting the card to fix it.

I think the big problem right now (for new players) is zombies agro a lot easier then they did before. Its a topic of debate on the Dayz forums, but knowing rocket that's just going to be the way it is from now on. However i myself am loosing interest in the game now. No starting weapon was fine the lack of any direction was fine hell the fact that zombies could clip through walls was even fine. But the super line of sight the zombies have is just no fun anymore ( to some extent the games was never about fun and was designed to be an "anti-game") This is first big departure from the me the player and designer where i really hate what he's done to it. But that is the problem with letting people play your Alpha build. The game is always changing and at least until it reaches Beta things are going to continue to change. Personally (and i have always felt this way) at some point DayZ will stop being popular, and some other Dev is going to take the main of idea of this game and run with it.

I actually think that's the beauty of this. Whether Rocket figures out how to evolve the game or not, he's blown open an "opportunity" for investors to fund a bigger studio with a similar project.

yep, I have the same problem. When i try to get my key it just says "failed to contact key server". is there anyone who actually have a solution for this?

EDIT: apparently they might have ran out of keys and will send out new ones soon. I wonder if its Valve or Microsoft who fails here?

It's the publisher's duty to give Steam enough keys, although I'm not sure if it's simply the publisher mis-analyzing the number of keys needed, or Steam mis-analyzing and only requesting a certain amount.

Games that do not require a key (that the user inputs) usually do not have this issue at all on steam.

@nywt: If it helps, I too find the Batman voice in these movies to be a bit silly. Mask his voice? Definitely. In that specific way, though?

Also, I think part of the rage about this announcement stems from the lack of communication we've had from Dice about patches and fixes for battlefield 3, along with the numerous glitches (some smaller than others) that continually fail to be addressed. We had near-complete radio silence from December 22ish to february 15 from dice about the game, and then in the nine months or so the game's been out, we've seen only 3 patches. Something that wouldn't be an issue (number of patches does not necessarily mean much) except that big issues that existed since launch were unaddressed for long periods of time, and new glitches introduced in patches were not hot fixed.

So let's see. Since 2002:

Battlefield 1942

Vietnam

2

2142

Bad Company

Bad Company 2

Battlefield 3

...and that's hardly even counting all of the DLC or the free to play games or 1943.

EDIT: Also, this hardly even encompasses all of the FPS genre. Last year we had Rage and Deus Ex HR, two FPS games that are vastly different from each other and not at all related to, or even similar to, Call of Duty or Battlefield. Actually, for that matter, can you name five so-called "CoD clones" that have gotten any significant attention other than MoH and BF?

I'm in a similar boat with you. I used to be excited for most new games, even if I knew I'd never get to play most of them. Now? Now I have lost most of my enthusiasm for all but a _relatively_ small collection.

It isn't even that I prefer small, indie games now. I'm just sorta jaded on the same ol' same ol' gameplay systems that we've had rammed into our heads lately. Sorta like sequelitus, but even the "new ips" are basically clones of other games with minor contrived differences.

Yet, despite this, I still love Battlefield 3 just as I have every.single.other.battlefield game.

I don't know, man, it looks like a lot of your decision comes down to your life style and choices, and I can't fault you at all either way.
