When I was 7 I had a hell of a time trying to decide between Crash Bandicoot 2: The Wrath of Cortex and Army Men 3D. I made the right choice to get Crash.

I'm excited for it. Jeff seems very optimistic from his comments on the bombcast.

Damn you kids today and your Bertrand Russells and your Michel Foucaults.

Shit, don't even get me started on John Stuart Mill.

Good call. I heard Brad was going to leave if this didn't stop.

I actually laughed out loud at that.

Most last generation games are pretty spotty by today's standards, but I'm sure the Max Payne games are dirt cheap at this point. At some point though, I have to simply cut things from my backlog and new releases. I would love to play everything out there, but $60 is steep to a student's wallet, and real life is, most of the time, more important to focus on.

On a side note, I'll be shocked if GTA V comes out this year. But I guess that depends on what is brewing with the new consoles anyways. If they're not coming until next year, then I think there is a small chance that GTA will come out.

@weegieanawrench: I actually got Ninja Gaiden 2 a few years back and played for about three hours before returning it. That game was completely unfair, even on normal difficulty. I hit rough spots the first time I tried Ninja Gaiden Black, but 2 was so hard that I didn't want anything to do with it after the second boss battle.

@Icemael: I definitely feel more horror, triumph, and awe in video games than sadness. Hell, even Battlefield 3 makes me feel really useful and happy when I revive everyone as a medic. Though@big_jon has posted some really good examples of games that made me feel sad, hollow, or proud at times. Gears 3 used "Mad World" to great effect, and made me a little sad even though I didn't care about Dom that much. Episode 2 was a typical second act downer, but it set the stage for Episode 3 (whenever we'll finally see that play out). Halo Reach's ending was perfect because it was already established that none of the Spartans made it off the planet, so it felt appropriate to fight it out to the end. Some games also make me feel a profound sense of loneliness, like Portal or Metroid. Or the Ishimura sequence in Dead Space 2.

@BlatantNinja23: I don't have a PS3 though. So my only option for playing Ninja Gaiden--which I plan to do even though I bought Bayonetta first--is either Xbox Originals for $15, or order Ninja Gaiden on Amazon.

@WilltheMagicAsian: I have played a few Resident Evils, and I'm currently going through 5. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for any easter eggs.
