And there I was, dreading having to buy a potentially essential upgrade... I'm somewhere between disappointment and relief.

I commute a lot, so I would actually benefit from that OLED screen. But not for 350 bucks.

I've been watching these three, Jeff, Ryan and Rorie since way back when they were at Gamespot. It was such a trip following them here, experiencing the Whiskey Media days... They've been with me through so much of my life....

Soooo, I've been working my way though depression again. It's been a thing since I was 8 or so. I'm 36 now and I've got it mostly under control. Just a month here or there where I spend lots of time sleeping. And a thing I've been doing for years now is put a GB video on in the backgroung while I sleep or chill or play a repetetive loot game or something. I listen to them when I go running, when I commute... They hold a very special place in my heart, in my life. I wish Alex, Brad and Vinny the abolute best. And of course everyone staying with the site.

Giant Bomb is so fucking great! It has put so many people on my radar who I will follow to the end of the earth. Just kind-hearted, naturally funny, well-spoken people. Everyone who has worked here is an absolutely phenomenal person and hopefully this will continue into the future if the remaining staff manages to build something great from these ashes

Thank you, duders! Much love to the staff, mods and all us members.

I'm only a few paragraphs in, but this is already such an awesome piece on this whole mess... Just wanted to give a shoutout before I grab a tablet and continue reading from there.

One thing I'll miss about Ben is how he wasn't ever afraid to break out of his comfort zone. Either because he was genuinely interested or because he wanted to cover something for the site, he would play lots of games no one else on the crew dare touch. Love you, Ben!

Yeah it's so so good. Brad is such a great singer. Chest voice? Immaculate. Falsetto? Effortless.

Thanks for posting it. Haven't listened to it in a while.

I can't believe it's actually come to this. I mean... that isn't true. You could see this coming a mile away. I'm still stunned. I hope no good person gets hurt in these dipshits treasonous terror acts. Stay safe, duders, all your loved ones and your democracy.

I only discovered his new channel today. Just haven't kept up with what he's been up to post-Kotaku. But i'm really looking forward to jumping into his Doom video.

I love long-form video game essays and am always on the lookout for people who are interested in more than pure mechanics since that's just fucking boring. Noah Caldwell-Gervais is my absolute gold standard for what these kinds of videos should be imo. Personal, critical, political.

I'm enjoying Valhalla quite a bit but I'm glad that I went into it with the right expectations. Basically that I would like the (female) main character, enjoy some good shanking and not much else. I can find some humor in a few of those side quests, even though I agree with @humanity here that's it's just a bunch of nothing. It also helps that I bought an LG CX last week and the game looks gorgeous on it.

I've found the stealth to be a step up from Odyssey. All my difficulties are set to highest and I've gotten my ass beaten pretty good if I get myself surrounded. So far I needed to carefully stake out a place, pick off some lone guys and carefully stealth my way to targets. I've managed to do some really good assassinations that reminded me of the early AC games. I like that the game lets me focus on those missions without feeling forced to do every little activity that comes my way. Maybe that's a me-thing. Maybe I've just grown out of that Vinny-mindset.

I understand that Odyssey and Valhalla both love their big battles and although they've been fun, they're not really the draw for me.

Oh, I absolutely want to highlight the loot system. This is pretty much what I want out of an rpg outside of looter ARPGs.
