"A lot of characters are really annoying to fight depending on what character you are using. Some matches have really strange things that you have to learn and eventually will learn after using your character a lot. I use Yoshimitsu and on ranked I have 62 wins and 31 losses, I have trouble against Taki and Kilik right now but it's just a matter of learning their weaknesses and move patterns.
edit - but I must add when people do use cervantes it does come off as a bit nooby. He has too many special overpowered moves but if you know how to dodge them you can beat em. I don't have much trouble but I have come across people who spam his special moves who have like 70% win records just from doing that which is a bit silly.
"
Exactly!
I use kilik myself, and in a none cheap way I have to say.
I'm level 20 now and I've learned to counter every cheaper: Kilik, Cervantes and mostly the stupid astaroth people who think that his moves work against a smart human.
Cervantes is very easily destroyable with kilik, you can interrupt his drills by poking with the stick. 90% of the time it's enough to give you the advantage and get the noob down.
It's really sad though, cus I've seen people around level 39 or even 46 that use this cervantes spam...
I've always had a grudge against cervantes really...
I think some of his moves are too cheap and do way too much damage, for example, the teleport backwards/ drill forward move...
It sends the enemy into the air and allows an extra attack by just pressing a button: in standard, these 2 moves do almost half a life bar of damage, and are very easy to spam since the teleport gets you out of harm.
Yoda isn't all that cheap, his grabs are easy to pull off but suck damage wise... just because he's small doesn't mean he's cheap. He has barely any good set ups and no impressive moves whatsoever.
Pokemon as a species/concept is certainly bigger than a hamburger in a game related sense which has it's own page and was added by the staff.
Whether Hamburger qualifies for a page or not is another topic of discussion that has nothing to do with this one.
The Pokémon franchise page will link to exactly the same pages as the concept page, it will feature exactly the same pictures, it has exactly the same name and it even links to the Pokémon concept page. Both will discuss the creatures as that is the main focus of the series.
If this is not the case, please present a good and valid point that will show why the concept page should stay individually. It is going to end up as merely a clone of the franchise page and will clutter up the concept boxes even more. That is all. "
I hole heartedly agree. Pokemon DOES NOT need a concept page. To reply to the Hamburger comment, it's a totally different thing. Hamburger doesn't have it's own franchise, it's something that appears but not as a character.
Pokemon appear in other games as their own individual selves, not as a whole. Meaning there is no need to represent pokemon as a whole stand alone concept. It's not a concept, it's a series of characters.
An army or a basketball team are not concepts, they are groups of single individuals. That's just what pokemon are, jsut like the animal kingdom in it's own way.
By other logic, I can now proceed to make a "Human Being" concept page, and probably make 3000 points by linking every human person and character I can find...
I can freely edit any page, but apparently the Pokemon Franchise page is not allowing me to edit it.
I need to (or someone to) do this as soon as possible, since some moron (I had to say it) added Smash Bros. Melee as a pokemon game. Consequentially every character in Melee is listed as a pokemon character, which is ridiculous.
"I'd say no on inside jokes. Using inside jokes in public is low class; they tend to alienate people. "
I agree, it's just not fit.
Just open a "Trivia" or "Curiosities" section on the full article and mention it there, possibly with a nice explanation to it. I know it's way to Wikipedia, but you gotta do it or you don't put the joke in at all.
