Let’s wrap up this pitch with the last batch of characters, plus some DLC character ideas and a quick description of items in the game.
One third party character that would be cool to have is Max Payne. He would be a ranged character that also kind of quick and agile. He would have some in close moves as well. Level 1 would give him some Painkillers that will heal him partially. Level 2 would give him some beer that gives him higher defense for a small period of time. Level 3 activates Bullet Time mode and each shot from his dual pistols can instantly kill an enemy.
Keeping with the time manipulation theme, the Prince from the Prince of Persia Sands trilogy should be included. He would be a quick, agile close combat character with both a sword and the Dagger of Time in his arsenal for a more varied selection of attacks. Level 1 activates the rewind feature which can be used to save the prince from falling off the battlefield or reverse the effects of an attack. Level 2 is the freeze attack with the dagger that’ll freeze an opponent for a small amount of time. Level 3 is the haste attack and disperses sand that if caught in it, opponents will be frozen and the Prince will teleport to each opponent, instantly killing them in one slice.
Commander Shepard needs to be in this game and both male and female versions can be selected. Male Shep will resemble the Soldier class and Fem Shep will resemble the Vanguard class. Both will have in close melee attacks but Male Shep will use an Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle and Fem Shep will use a Shotgun and Heavy Pistol. Male Shep’s Level 1 is the Concussive Shot, which stuns an enemy and takes 25% damage. Fem Shep’s Level 1 is the Pull ability and will lift enemies up in the air temporarily, making them completely invulnerable. Male Shep’s Level 2 is Incendiary and causes 25% damage and 5% damage over time temporarily. Fem Shep’s Level 2 is Charge and will increase strength and defense temporarily. Male Shep’s Level 3 is Cryo and will freeze and shatter an enemy for an instant kill. Fem Shep’s Level 3 is Nova, which blows away any opponent it comes in contact with.
We’re almost done and character number 21 will be a surprise but I think Faith from Mirror’s Edge would fit well on the roster. Her character would be a close combat character that focuses on the melee combat rather than gunplay. Level 1 enables reaction time which slows down time temporarily. Level 2 is a counter that will stun an opponent temporarily. If the character who is countered uses a gun, Faith can shoot people with their gun for a short amount of time. Level 3 slows down time as Faith runs across the battlefield, doing sliding and jump kicks that kill instantly.
Finally, we have the other big Microsoft shooter guy, Marcus Fenix. He’ll be a ranged character that’s slow but powerful. He’ll use the Lancer Assault Rifle, Gorgon Burst Pistol, and Torque Bow. Throws will use the Chainsaw and curb stomp attacks from the series. Level 1 gives Marcus a Bolo Grenade that deals 40% damage. Level 2 has Marcus man a Troika Machine Gun. Each hit takes 25% damage and can hit multiple enemies. Level 3 summons the Hammer of Dawn, killing anyone caught in its blast.
Whew! 22 characters on the roster with more that can be added with DLC. A few suggestions that come to mind are Cortana from Halo, Ayane from Dead or Alive, James Heller from Prototype 2, Frank and the Maw from Twisted Pixel’s The Maw, Cooper Chance from Rare’s Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Augustus Cole from Gears of War, Nightmare from SoulCalibur, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, Stranger from Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath, and Altair from Assassin’s Creed.
One quick thing to mention is the items would be various objects from all the games represented in the title. So jars of acid from Splosion Man would be in the game, skulls to throw from Halo, packets of seeds to heal yourself from Viva Pinata, the list goes on. Also, while in combat, sometimes dog tags from Gears of War will drop onto the battlefield. Collecting these will go towards unlocking various goodies and features such as artwork, music tracks, information about the games, levels and hidden characters.
Well, that ends my pitch for a Microsoft centric Super Smash Bros title. What did you think? Do you like my idea? Have anything to add to it? Comment below and let me know. In case you didn’t read parts 1-3 of my pitch check them out below.
