These are just songs that people might actually listen to in their free time, not our national anthem, or anything like that.
15. Billy Ray Cyrus- "Some Gave All"
I know I'm gonna get some shit for this one, but it's a very patriotic song.
14. Fort Minor- "Where'd You Go"
I couldn't think of any patriotic rap songs, and this was the closest I could find. That's why this is on here.
13. James Brown- "Livin' in America"
Anyone who's seen Rocky IV remembers this song. Plus it's James Brown, I mean come on.
12. Jimi Hendrix- "The Star Spangled Banner"
Filmed at Woodstock '69, possibly the most patriotic festival in history, Jimi Hendrix plays the national anthem. Amazing.
11. Woody Guthrie- "This Land is Your Land"
This is a classic. I mean you have to know this song.
10. Barry Sadler- "Ballad of The Green Beret"
A song about the Green Berets in Vietnam. Probably not too popular at the time.
9. Brooks & Dunn- "Only in America"
My favorite country duo playing one of my favorite songs.
8. Johnny Horton- "Battle of New Orleans"
One of the catchiest songs of all time. I can't get it out of my head!
7. Toby Keith- "American Soldier"
One of my favorite singers. Toby Keith is known for being very patriotic(and funny), and this song is definitely patriotic.
6. Lynyrd Skynyrd- "Red White and Blue"
Ah Lynyrd Skynyrd. Another group known for being patriotic. Everyone loves these guys.
5. John Michael Montgomery- "Letters From Home"
A song about an Iraqi soldier who makes it day to day by reading his parents' letters. It's touching, and patriotic.
4. Johnny Cash- "Ragged Old Flag"
Johnny Cash. You either love him or hate him. This song's in classic Johnny Cash style, and talks about our flag and why we love it.
3. Toby Keith- "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue(The Angry American)"
Toby Keith was obviously very pissed off about 9/11 when he wrote this, but it's how most Americans felt when we were attacked on 9/11. It's one of my favorite songs.
2. Lee Greenwood- "God Bless the USA"
This song has become almost like our second national anthem. You heard it a lot after 9/11.
1. Alan Jackson- "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)"
The reason this song is #1 instead of "God Bless the USA" is because it's very relevent. 9/11 is still a topic you hear about almost every day, and this song really brings people together.
