With my few hours so far, I haven't seen TOO many of the kill x amount of demons to continue, though its definitely in there.Basically, there are these "gore nests" which when you destroy spawn enemies that you have to kill to proceed. It happens occasionally enough but to be honest, the combat is really well executed and fun but I can see how it would maybe not lend that well to a speed runner. I myself have been kinda getting into the Doom 2 speedruning scene so I know the struggle. The combat is very fast paced though!

Level design has leaned more towards the Doom 2 style, much more focus on open arena styles. Only a few corridors. Don't get me wrong, this is a LINEAR game through and through but its not a claustrophobic one; far from it.

@atwa: it is barely present,definitely takes a back seat to the action. There isn't even a cut scene in the beginning

@paulmako: environments have been varied so far, though I'm still on the uac facility, but within the same level I've had indoor and on Mars sequences

@baronsamedi: it's less wave based and more arena based. There are these nests that you destroy, which spawns some waves around you, but you have a lot of room to maneuver.

Beyond that, it's as doom as can be. Youre basically not shooting demons for a few moments at a time

@beachthunder: no, so far it's been pretty obvious (a dead corpse with the key card attached to it's vest). The game really focuses on constant action

@humanity: I would say it's running super smooth like 99% of the time. I've experienced once noticeable moment of stutter at a "loading door", but that was it.
